I can add a bit to the WS thread

Quote:
ok this how it works. if you tell her to call when she is ready this is how they act.

if you have under 50% tp they solo.

if you have over 50% but under 100% they call thier tp " ready to go bring it on" or something like that. they use ws when you have 100% and your expected to follow.

if you have over 100 tp before the npc does the npc will use ws without warning and your expected to follow.

at least this si what my npc pattern is.I am not sure if relationship effects this at all

If the mob is under 20% health and both you and your NPC have full TP, the NPC will hold off and not go. If this happens, they will execute their attack immediately at the start of the next battle.

I've find a nice and quiet little XP spot, where the mobs are just on the edge of conning TW to me at lvl 62. Easy to get to and easy mobs. Been leveling every two calls. I sit and SC/MB with them the entire session (though I really wish I could get them to stick to one WS. I keep doing the same one, but the NPC seems to rotate through 3 different ones - 2 of which I can chain/mb on).

Gotta love Fast Cast

I am Having a LOT of dificulty understanding how the armor works here so can someone please help me.

I currently have my NPC at level 38 and every time I call her at the checkpoint in jeuno gardens, it seems she is wearing something completely random!!

Here is the routine I follow every day.
- I get a tele-altep and call here and begin xping her off Dhalmels and beetles. She usually levels every other outing.
- EVERY outing we end with her "reaching her quota" rather than letting time run out.
- She has NEVER died and I call her once a day.
- After each outing I talk to the start NPC (Luto) to see if there is anything new (like my NPC wanting new weapons etc.)

She was wearing scale gear for the longest then over time grew into liz gear. She was just starting to wear a few pieces of the chainmail gear a couple of days ago and all of a sudden I chack her after yesterdays outing and she was back to lizzy gear. After todays outing she is down to a few pieces of SCALE gear again!!

I really dont understand what Im doing wrong here. I follow this same routine everyday. If anyone knows what my problem is please let me know!! ( before tomorrows run hopefully :D)

I don't know if all of you have checked, but after a certain while, I was given a new option at Rendezvous Point when I called my NPC out.

Sorry for the bold, but sometimes my posts are neglected. ; ;

Anyways, the new option was asking my NPC to change his headgear =)

Perhaps your posts are neglected because they contain old information that has already been posted many times (in this very thread, even).

My NPC hit 46 today. Nothing new to report, other than his hitting for 60+ with his great axe.

Theredwolf, your question has been answered throughout this thread a few times. Everyone just isn't reading all the posts. I took the time out to do it, and you'll find some really good information. I'll answer again though...

Since you said she had chainmail on previously, there's a chance she doesn't have on "Scale Mail" right now, and she may have on "Steam Scale Mail." Remember, a lot of the armors use the same design.

I have a question of my own though. My NPC is lvl 41 (will be 42 this afternoon). Is there a third weapons list yet? I have the first two lists of weapons already, but, if it's possible, would like to up grade her once more, thanks (She's currently using Two-Handed G.Sword). I'm thinking about switching her to G.Axe though, havn't decided yet.

How do you know that? Your NPC is level 50?

BTW - NPC will take half the damage from 1000 needles :) (and, well, uhm, die) :) I checked it myself on Cactuar once.

Just my take on the armor, I don't think it has any bearing on the NPC"s actual defense (then again... I haven't really had it take any damage while leveling so I can't be positive).

I think NPC's go in with a set Attack/Defense, and just pick gear at random for style. Mine has gone from LVL 1 RSE -> Scale -> Some type I haven't seen before -> Level 1 RSE and has been at RSE for some time (4 outings / 2 levels). We are all speculating that this armor ties in with the defense, but just like the weapons don't really tie in with their actual game stats, I don't think the armor does either.

As for the rest... so nothing past the headgear? I'm wondering if we have to talk to an NPC in another zone to activate the next two stages. Maybe Bastok or Windy? We've already talked with one Advanced Job Quest NPC... has anyone tried the others?

There AREN'T any more strings in data files concerning other than headgear armor changes.

We just have to wait for the update.

I have no doubt that some people have their NPCs at L50 already. Mine will ding 46 today and although I finished the quest on the first day I didn't start levelling it properly until nearly a week later. I've missed a few days too.

Btw, here's another fun thing to try. You can TA/SATA on to your NPC. XD

A WHM friend and I have been playing about with this the last couple of days using THF sub. TA + Hexastrike on a skellie in Xarcabard sets hate on the NPC really well, lol. It seems that it only works on your own NPC though, I've never been able to TA on to my friend's one.

What every NPC pearl owner dreads:

NPC: Hello, are we ready to fight?

<random fights>

NPC: Over here! ::VOKES::

NPC: Ready to start skillchain!

<more random fights>

NPC: I'm getting low on HPs, lets rest for a bit?

<resting, followed by more random battles>

NPC: Well, my time is up. I have to get going... Oh, but before I go, I was thinking maybe we should both go visit Maat... Ill meet you there.

<NPC disappears in a puff of smoke, laughing at the obsenities her PC buddy is throwing at her....>

I'm noticing that people say that only after 3 calls you can change your NPC's job. Thats not true, yesterday I called my npc the second time (the first time it died) and today I got the option to change her job at the rendezvous point in Jeuno, before I could call for her the third time.

It's actually the Brass Scale Mail that is the non-NM dropped set, but regardless, I don't really buy this as an answer.

As someone else said, I have seen my NPC revert to level 1 RSE (and no it was not the 30ish RSE they are different colors). So the main question is why would they do this?

Most people seem to have come to the conclusion that armor changes are random, and I'd probably agree. The only other idea I have is that I drag my healer NPC around when she is low on mp and never let her rest. Maybe that lowers our relationship? I kinda doubt it though, I still got the headgear option at 36-37ish.

It's been discussed in various threads that the armor the NPC wears is strictly for aesthetics and does not have any bearing on their capabilities. The style also seems to match up with their job (ie. more mage-type clothes for healers, DD-type stuff for attacker, tank-type stuff for defenders).

NPC dinged 47 yesterday. Took 46 kills in west altepa on anticans that con EP to me. I know it don't matter what they are to me, I just try to kill stuff that is +6 levels to my npc. We usually pull the anticans that are in the low pits.

Nothing new from Luto/RP. When my friends npc's catch up a bit, we're gona go to cape terigan to level them up.
