Here is a question I know a few peeps are asking, yet there is no def answer.

We will work on the basis of a group of 6 people, levels 65 - 70. Each person does the trick or treat quest, Mippie quest, and the monster mission.

We all then do the vampire quest, and the bone collection using level 30 shrouds, cheesing the system by de-shrouding afterwards.

So 3 of the 5 quests are done at normal level, while 2 of the 5 quests are done at a lower / easier level. Will the final mask be the high level mask? or lower?!?!?!

Anyone have a def answer?

Question answerwed...

Shrouding does not effect the final reward. I shrouded to level 20 for both the bone collector and vampire quest and completed both after removing shroud and got credit and got the mask as the final reward with the full stats.

Finished today yay! Just a couple notes:

You only need 2 in group to get the Missing Costume Pieces Task - Vampire. I donned a level 30 shroud on both toons, requested task and then dropped shrouds. Easily soloable in Mistmoore for mid 40ish player. Had to wait in line though on my server.

You need at least 3 in group for Bonecollector task. Works great with 3 toons - split up and each take a zone. Be careful when you turn-in in Kithicor. When the final mob spawned some bystanders took it down before we could and we didn't get credit for the kill. They claimed ignorance - but we got their mob when they did their turn-in. Otherwise, might have had to do it all over again. Used the shroud for this one too.

Biggest bottleneck was getting pumpkin flesh for the Mippy task.

Group of 6 shrouded down to Lvl 35 to do the bone collector part of the quest. Got all the bones from Lower Guk + Tower of Frozen Shadow as those were required from the quest. After returning to Kithicor to hand the bones back in, to Barsin, The Bone Collector, had a surprise when a red con mob, "A Bone Construct" spawned and we had to kill it to finish out the quest. Was a moment of panic when we all, but one got killed and then the mob despawned. We thought we were screwed. Went back to the turn in mob, Barsin, The Bone Collector, and re-hailed him and the quest mob repopped at full health. Dragged the quest mob to the commons zone and took hin out. Took a few mins to kill him, he is a tough one. Long story short, make sure you have your full group at Barsin upon turning in the bones and ready to fight. Good Luck and Happy Hunting !!!

this has been posted, but would like to confirm.

you can do bloody vampire and bone colection very very easy.

shroud down.

after you shroud down, have a higher lvl friend, go kill your mob in seconds. then loot with other toons.

works for bone colection too...just loot with the shrouded toon, have friend do killing.

for final mob in bone colection, you have a second or two before it is active, hand in items with shrouded toon, then run! have friend nuke it once to kill. is great, i am doing it with 3 accounts, botting two of them.

i had the bots..and my toon shrouded to lvl 25. i then camp my toon i doing it for, and kill with my main, having another bot do the looting. don't know how to do final for bone colection without a friend, but still, was easy to ask to come kill it fast,

bloody vamp..total cake, kill with one (lvl 70) loot with another, poof, task over after i log MY toon back on and do hand in.

The below information is incorrect it should read:

The Dragon Rib is in Dragon Necropolis and it is a ground spawn, you do not have to kill anything to get it. It spawns on the ground inside the carcasses of dead dragon bones, kinda like the leaves in Fay, or the Salt in Natimbi.

When you turn in these items to the Bone Collector, on the final turn in (do them in order please) a Bone Drake spawns. He is not too hard to kill BUT no spells work on him, you have to tank. No nukes, no snare, no nuthin' so don't waste yer mana. Make sure your group has tankage. He is semi tough, taking a bit longer than the average spawn of his level but I think that is due to his magic Resistance.

Hope this helps,
Leah

The Bone collector - LVL 65- 70 toons... 3 in grp

loot 1 Ghast Fingerbones - PoH
Loot 4 bone chips Old Seb - these were skellies behind the locked door
A dragon rib - kith
Turn in to the bone collector for each ...

loc of bone collector

No, you do not "Groan" at them, you say "Trick or Treat" to each of these mobs to get your candy. I just made a simple hot key, /say Trick or Treat" and clicked it each time I found a candy giver.

People are complaining about the stats "reward" of food. Why whine? It is better to have a food item at times because you do not have to worry about augmenting it, or having an open slot. Food is a great reward, and so sorry a Monk doesn't like the candy he got, I like mine, it was Carmel Apples and had +45 to mana and Endurance I can easily use a bonus in both areas as a Necro.

Going to turn in more food with my Ranger now, maybe will get a different food.

I got the Quest from the Half Dressed Halfling, Killed the Bloody Vampire, Went back and tryed to turn in Cloak and Fangs and The Halfling gives em back saying he has no use for them. So I figured I did something wrong, destroyed the items, got the Quest again, killed the mob and he wouldn't accept the items again. I am very frustrated with this since the bloody vampire and his bats are way underconned and the only quest I can get to work is trick or treat.

Random notes:

The trick or treat guy is in the corner of the zone by Rivervale, the bone collector is along the edge of the lake, the dressed up halfling appears as a midget vampire by a log just left out of the WC zone and the muppet for the god mm is along the path between Rivervale and Highkeep outside a cabin.

The quests seem to have no set order.

You only need a group to gain the mission from the bone collector and the puppet all others can be received solo.

Shrouding down does work to get the lesser/easier version of the quest for the bone collecting and the dressed up halfling/bloody vampire quest.

Ok, not sure if this has been posted yet. I didn't go through EVERY post on here but I saw people having trouble with the illusion to get the mask, I had some too. Here was the problem. I did all 5 quest but 2 of the quest I did before the NEW patch (on Nov 1st I think it was)where they updated the halloween quest. So, make sure you've done all 5 quest, and their updated. Than use the illusion mippie gives you and hail the guy in POK. That should get you the mask. Good luck.

Here's an added problem to the frustration. In order to get the mask you have to hail the imp in an illusion (in "costume") but Mippie sometimes will give an illusion potion that matches your race. To get around this you need to get another illusion potion or have a chanter cast an illusion on you.

As for the first door in Befallen. Yes it is locked and the key opens it from inventory. After being unlocked it stays unlocked for awhile.

Uh, the "groaning" comments were in regards to the bad puns contained within the names of some of the trick or treat NPCs (Poil Lop = lolipop, which is what he gives you, for example).

We had a guildie run into a problem when she was zoning and another group member turned in the Vampire cloak and bones into the NPC. She never got credit for completing that part of the quest and we had to redo it. Such a pain in the butt.

On the collect bone quest, our group did level 35 shroud. After waiting in Lower Guk for over three hours, it was finally our turn. We got the first bone on round one, but, then it was 4 hours and our timer ran out so the quest did us NO GOOD. Being determined players, and with the aid of the long posting here that laid out what we should do, we redid the bone collectors twice in less then 1 and 1/2 hours. THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU!!.

Just did the vampire quest solo. Shrouded to 30 as has been suggested, got the mission and de-shrouded. Then went to Castle Mistmoore and killed bloody vamp. (Lt. Blue to 53 Rogue)

Note: I found him in GY with fully popped zone. On first attack his bats and the DE's made it too hard. I zoned out, came back in. He was no longer in the gy. I cleared the DE's, healed using potions and waited. In a few moments he poped out of the coffin room and I took him down easily. Dropped cloak and fang. I turned them in without re-shrouding and recieved ticket and ring.

Only have Bone Collector task remaining, going to try it solo and see what happens.

hours over hours with all the hints and spoilers to no avail.. now we found these damn thing.

The "Dragon Rib" for the level 65-70 part of Bonecaller Quest in the back part of the zone, but not in the caves. It is on same level like the zone in. At 911/neg642 was always a "dragon claw" and respawn is awesome long. At 1170/neg560 also inside some bones there was our dragon rib. If you head towards that it can be that a dragon construct spawns.. at this place we got two dragon constructs at ones and NONE of them had this as drop. It is a small little BAG, it doesnt glow.

I also assume cause this claw at 911/neg642 didnt respawn for over 30minutes, perhaps it pingpongs as bag between all the dead dragon ribs around the back part.. who knows..

Hell.. so much wrong info got us wandering around Dragon Necropolis for hours...

The dragon claw is a ground spawn for the bard epic 1.5. That is why there is such a long respawn time for it. There is also a Dragon tail bone and a dragon wing bone in the zone as ground spawns as well.

Now that the quest is over, I just wanted to make one observation:

I thought it was funny that, as a DE, I was given a DE Illusion potion....

The gobby didn't buy it.

Luckily, one of the people in my group let me have a swig of theirs, next thing I knew, I had my mask...

Bloody vampire spawns inside the locked crypt, if you have a rogue, you can get him first if there is multiple grps waiting for him.
#151 Nov 04 2006 at 6:10 PM Rating: Decent
imo, you shouldn't have to "beat" other groups to him. groups should just line up and wait in line. this is how we did it last year on stromm (at least every time i ran the task). its the polite thing to do. should a group decide that they'd rather jump the line, well, thats just plain rude and they deserve whatever flack/griefing/training they get.

also, to anyone searching for info on these quests, this thread is the spoiler thread from last year's (halloween 2005) quest, which has returned this year (2006). there are other new halloween quests this year (2006) as well, which are discussed in the thread entitled "Halloween Info". Good luck to all going after the mask/shield and happy halloween (even though its November)
