Have any other premium members started getting pop ups here? It is only a minor annoyance but if I've missed seeing any settings where I can once again have this disabled I would appreciate directions 8)

I have not ever had pop ads on this site when I am logged in. This appears to be unique only to specific individuals and not an all encompassing statement.

I never get pop ups as while logged in.

That noted: Adware/spyware can and will add pop ups to your PC. Gator is one of the most recognized.

These tend to infest PCs so much they can cause serious slow down. Think of them as virus's that are not contagious. you get them from Malisious websites. *COUGH*castersrelam*COUGH* trys to install 'avenue A' every time I go to thier message board.

I seriously suggest you do a google serch on "spybot destroy".

Heck... i will do for ya.

http://www.safer-networking.org/

This is a free app, that checks for over 11,000 adware/spyware after you update it. I am amazed at the number of people that this helps.

100plat says you are infected and that if will be better after you clean your selves up.

Haven't had any in almost a year I think.

I get them occasionally. I have guessed think it is when the cookie is deleted for age. (Like going on vacation from work where company policy does not allow long term cookies.)

That said, I have found that it will take a couple of login close wait cycles for the login to take.

I use Avant to browse web pages, and it has a pop-up blocker within it, so I never saw the popups even when I wasn't a Premium member. For those who don't like to try new browsers, Avant is basically a "shell" that goes over Internet Explorer. So you have a whole bunch of useful features added on to IE, and it's free. Makes it almost as good as those Mozilla and Firebird browsers all the cool kids seem to use.

Game on,

It's fixed now. Occasionally we get a glitch that stops recognizing the premium cookie for someone who logs out and back in, or for those who sign up anew. If it happens during the day or evening, we usually catch it right away. When it happens at 4:00 am like this one, it can go a few hours and usually results in me waking Illia up at the crack of dawn since I'm 2 hours ahead of him. :)

it's good to get out of bed at 6:30 in the morning, really it is.. it's even better to discover that you're out of coffee at 6:30 in the morning.

That's cause for justifiable murder, in my book.

Illia,
I suscribe to the Gevalia coffe company. They send it so regularly I never find myself out of it.

Gevalia is pretty nice (and good) but I've developed a taste for Tasters Choice... yes... instant coffee. </gasp>

Its the only instant I've found thats drinkable, even at quadrupal strength like I drink mine 8)

THanks for the official replies!
