Mouse Buttons Stop workingFollow

#1 Jan 06 2004 at 1:18 AM Rating: Default
I keep loosing my mouse buttons in game. I have to log off and restart eq and log back in to fix this.

I keep asking what is going on in CHAT but the GM says "this is not tech support chat and to eamil sony" yet he is in there telling people to delete ini files and how to patch things.

I have emialed sony and a week later have not gotten a reply.

LUCKY for me I am in my first 30 days. I can cancel my account and find another game if this is how the game is.

Does anybody know if this is a bug.
How to keep it from happening?
When the bug will be fixed?
Has the bug been fixed and if so what do I need to do?

Thanks

I've had it a few times. I find camping to character select and coming back in has cured it.

I play two accounts on the same machine so I had put it down to the idiosyncracies of XP rather than a game fault.

If it is more general then we can expect them to deny it until they have a fix.

Go here to the tech support forum:
https://everquest.allakhazam.com/forum.html?forum=25

Once there, please provide the information listed in the FAQ thread. Also please include what type of mouse you are using, and specifically if it is a wireless or usb driven mouse.

I 2box with wireless optical mice. I find this happens when the batteries start to get low in the mice - will work ok out of the game, but not in game. My solution is to cange the batteres when this happens. I know that is a hassel, but I like the freedom of the wireless mouse and feel its worth it.

Happens to me occasionaly when 2-boxing. Hitting Alt, Ctrl & Shift once each (not all at once) clears it 99% of the time. Read somewhere that one of them can get "stuck", the client thinks you are pressing one of them when your are not. Didn't think it would work till it... worked :P

I have also experienced this problem. I emailed SoE and was told it was a sound card issue. IT IS NOT.
I think the problem is in the EQ program but, as you learned, SoE is very remiss to EVER openly admit THEY are to blame.
My belief is, if they did, they might open themselves up to class action lawsuits for breach of contract, as happened years ago when a Major ISP couldn't handle all the customers they had signed.
As for the fix, I have to warm boot out and resign. (gives me a few extra minutes to curse at Sony under my breath, hehe.)

Happened twice to me - very annoying - but zoning cured mine - bah. Just have plain old standard mouse, that has never failed me in any other program.

If your mouse stops working (in game) try hit shift+enter that will window EQ now move your mouse and see if you see your desktop mouse pointer if so hold it over the EQ screen and left click this may or may not help ... i have a mouse wheel that if depressed will bring up a websurfing program and it will cause my mouse to jump to the desktop and stop working on EQ but then i shift+enter and do the above and bam back to normal ..

I have experienced the same problem. I have read various threads on Messages boards about this and it seems to happens when you are looting a corpse and clicking fast (at least the 6 or so times it has happened to me). The only sure way I have found it to camp. I have never tried zoning as camping is usually faster. When it has happened to me I could not do alot of things. F1 key no longer worked to target myself. I could not use the /cast command, click on spell gems, or any hotbuttons. I could use my mouse to take click off buffs so i know the mouse was partially working. best thing to do is just /sit then /camp and relog right back in then /bug it.

babba has it. WHen it happens to me it is when I am looting a corps and most the time I loot fast as to move on to the next mob.

Sounds to me Sony could see another class action as there is a a lot of this going on in many forums.
