He wanders the entire courtyard area at the beginning, and when we were there and killed him, it seems like the respawn timer was around 30mins to an hour. Keep in mind I wasn't really timing it, so it's very possible I'm completely wrong. As far as PH's, if he's not up, just start killing the yard trash.
He wandered to the short lowish tunnel which connects the courtyard to the bigger tunnel in which you zone in to. I snared him, which he resisted. I invised and ran for the zone line and amazingly invis didn't break for that dash, until... Just before the last turn prior to zone out, I resnared him, which stuck. He had at least two or three friends at that point. I zoned out, zoned back in still invised. His friends had deserted him. I rebuffed a few things I had lost on zonning, and topped off my shortest buffs, leaving those short lived buffs in my spell gems to rebuff during the fight. I rooted him, and dispelled him a few times. I dotted him, and he stayed at 100% while I medded until his root wore off. I thought, OO, An unresisted dot didn't even take him to 99%. But I engaged anyway. I went through Warders Wrath, Auspice of the Hunter Rk.VI (twice), Guardian of the Forest Rk. IX, (twice), epic clik a bunch, HoT pots (eight), and two short lived buffs. Other than Temerity, Rk. I, which I just happened to have at the time, it was a total solo. I finished the fight with about 95% health and 25% mana. For a while I was a little nervous about not having enough mana as my mana % fell below the mob's percent for a bit, and for a good part of the fight was about the same as the mobs health. Other than the initial debuffing, root, and the dots I laid down at first, all my mana went to heals. He didn't interrupt my heals very much if ever. He rampaged, summoned, and enraged. He did not flurry, see invis, or wild (AE) rampage. Max hit in the latter part of the fight was 315, with a few doubles, but mostly single hits. (The fight took so long that I only had the last 11% or so of the fight on my log) All thiss on a ranger with 16568 hp, AC of 3022, and 1336 AA. Average level of gear is about COA, with gear from Tacvi/GOD up to groupable SoF. He didn't cast any spells that I could see, but I got a message; "You feel as if you are about to look like yourself again" three times during the fight, but didn't loose my wolf form, and when I hit F9, still looked like a wolf. The fight took about 20 minutes. He dropped the Palace Key, and an Excellent Animal Pelt.
Dropped by dru-enc-mage-cle, didn't take too long, still had plenty of mana at the end.
Best way to get this guy to zone-in single, assuming you don't have a FD-class, or just for fun:
Have someone invis and watch his pathing. When he's headed to the "top" of his path (closest to the castle) have someone who can evac train all the mobs from the zone-in to one side of the open area. RUN INTO THE WATER and swim to one of the far corners of the zone.
The mobs will pursue you INTO the water. In fact, it's hilarious cuz they run along the bottom. Evidently they can't swim. Makes sense for the rock mobs, since they're too heavy to float. Dunno why the robed dudes can't swim tho, since they're already floating over the ground.
Here's the trick.... once your trainer gets to the end of the water area, he evacs or gets a CoH from a mage, or even gates to a bind spot in UP, whatever, to clear aggro. The mobs get effectively "stuck" for awhile in the water. LIke they're all snared. Gives plenty of time for someone to tag Va Dyn Khar and bring him to the zone-out.
so this might be a stupid question, but it's something that most people take for granted on a big mob.... does this guy summon and is he snarable?.... the general assumption is yes so most don't even bother to try, but if he doens't summon and is snarable, a necro and a druid could most likely take him out duo style.
also how much does he hit for approx? i'm planning a suicide mission because i want his key lol. any help would be appreciated. --Athenya / Faedarr 66 Druid / 66 Chanter 86AAs / 65AAs
Ok maybe this isn't a big deal, but we dropped him with 9 peeps. Pally tank (gnomed), pally, beast, monk, enc, nec, mage, cleric, druid. Fully slowable but a ton of hit points. I cast Mala then Malosinia and then didn't have a problem with nuke resists. Oh, and he Rampages, but not a lot.
