The West Coast Grab Bag
It's Grab Bag time over on the Camelot Herald !
Q. My brother and I have been arguing over which mythirian would work best for my Vampiir. I voted for the Greater Health Mythirian, but my friends and brother are saying that the Greater Health Mythirian does not affect the person it is bound to during combat, or if the person is under a Damage Over Time spell. So my question is: How does the Greater Health Mythirian work? Does it affect people during combat? If so, (for example) if I had 3000 hits, how long would it take for the Greater Health Mythirian to get me to 100%?
A. Diving into the world of mythirians the Equalizer had this to say: The Greater Mythirian of Health provides the player with a 50% bonus to their natural Health Regeneration rate. A player normally regenerates hit points twice as fast when they are out of combat as they do when they are in combat. This Mythirian increases both regeneration rates by 50%, meaning that it will take two-thirds as long to regenerate the same amount of health, both in and out of combat. However, this means that when your character has a disease or a Damage over Time spell that negate or reduce the amount of health you regenerate over time, this Mythirian will not appear to have any effect on your character.
Q. I was wondering about the loss of durability of dragon drops, I was under the impression that due to the rarity of them, they do not lose durability. Recently I have noticed my Netherworldly Scale Hauberk and Spectral Great Falcata begin to lose durability, while my Destroyer of Dreams, Protector of Weary Souls, and Ghostly Great Falcata are still 100% durability, despite being repaired several times. Is this normal? Have they been changed the NSH and SGF somehow?
A. The Lady of the Jewels confirmed that: Only the Dragonslayer Weapons and Dragonslayer Armor do not lose durability. Drops from the Dragon encounters will lose durability normally.
Q. I've been told conflicting answers to a long held question about Vampiir's self haste buff and Warden's celerity. I have been told that they do stack and I have been told that they don't stack. I played Warden's celerity with the Vampiir self haste buff. If the 2 spells do stack I have not seen any difference in swing speed. Can you possibly clear this up? I would like to know if they stack and what the results are supposed to be. Thanks.
A. After some investigating, The Equalizer says: These two abilities will, and do, stack when used. However, the faster you are swinging before these effects are applied to you, the less effect these will appear to have, but they are both affecting the character.
Q. I'm a returning player after quitting for almost 2 years. I recently made a new account and was making templates when I stumbled upon the quest rewards from "Anatomy of an Ancient Foe". I did some research and found that the quest is no longer active. I was wondering if there was any thought of bringing the quest back? I would REALLY like to get my hands on one of those cloaks for my template plus they just look way cool!
A. With a mysterious look in her eyes The Lady of the Jewels tells us: Should the doppelgangers return, this quest will become available again. I can also assure you that this player will not have to wait very long for that opportunity.
Q. How is the Camouflage ability for stealthers affected by the Vampiir stealth detection buff? Does Camouflage actually make stealthers unable to be seen by Vamps even if they have their buff up?
A. The Equalizer could not hide from this question: The Camouflage ability is designed to conceal the archer from the effects of the Realm Ability Mastery of Stealth. This ability does not affect players who have stealth detection buffs up. This includes not only the Vampiir self-buff, but also includes the Stealth Mastery Buff from the Shades of Mist artifact.
Q. Okay, so upon my adventures through the great city of Camelot I come across an old man Robert Falcon. All he says is, "Why do you bother an old man? Can't you see I wish to be left in peace?" now i was wondering, whats this old man for? Or is he really just wanting to be left in peace?
A. Trying to not disturb the one who wishes peace the Lady of the Jewels replies: At this time, Robert Falcon is just a lonely old man who lives in Camelot City. Perhaps one day, however, he will have more to talk about.
Q. I have the Silksteel Soot Stained Boots from the Shades of Mist encounter. The boots that I possess have 18 Con, 18 Str, 5% power pool, 7 Str Cap, 6 Con cap, 2% magic damage. I thought there was supposed to be a a Dexterity cap on them, is this a bug?
A. The Lady of the Jewels has some good news about your boots: There are actually two pairs of Soot Stained Boots that can drop from this encounter in Albion. One gives a bonus to Dexterity Cap, meant for pure casting classes, and on gives a Bonus to Strength Cap, meant for Heretics. It appears the player received the Heretic version of these boots this time around.
Q. I hear people say a lot that Air Spec is the best Theurgist Spec because the pets stun, but I’ve played an Earth Theurgist now in Molvik for quite some time and my pets seem to do substantial damage. If I level to 50 though will Earth pets still be this powerful or will I end up just respecing then and wishing I got more practice at another spec early on?
A. Taking a moment from jumping up and down from all the excitement of answering something in the Grab Bag Sosee our Theurgist Team Lead had this advice: There is no "best" Theurgist spec because one player's play style can be quite different then another. The Theurgist is one of the most versatile casters in the game. The Theurgist can be effective as both a nuker and an interrupter, or both at the same time.
Each Theurgist pet type offers a unique ability such as the Air pet Stun or the Earth pets’ movement speed. There is no right combination of pet types because each player can easily have a different play style. I always advise players inquiring about Theurgist specs, to give each spec a try for a few days and really see how each fits their individual play style. Some prefer 50 earth while others will prefer the higher Air specs and still others prefer to have a mixture of all three spec lines.
