This past weekend at PAX South, Firaxis held a panel discussing the link between Civilization: Beyond Earth and their upcoming game, Sid Meier's Starships. Creator Sid Meier had a live gameplay demo of Starships near the end of the panel, which you can watch below!

At PAX South this weekend, ArenaNet took control of the Main Theater to announce their first expansion for Guild Wars 2: Heart of Thorns (HoT). We got a chance to sit down with GW2 Game Director Colin Johanson as well as President and Co-Founder of ArenaNet Mike O’Brien to get more details about HoT. If you missed the announcement, you can find an overview of all the features the two revealed during the announcement here on ZAM.

Many people guessed that Heart of Thorns was going to be the first expansion for Guild Wars 2, but that didn’t steal the thunder from ArenaNet as Mike O’Brien took to the stage and showed off the announcement trailer for the game’s first expansion pack.

Last week, we reported that ArenaNet is hosting a Guild Wars 2 panel in the Main Theater at PAX South this Saturday to talk about what they have planned next for the game. We already knew that the panelists would include ArenaNet President and Co-Founder Mike O'Brien alongside GW2 Game Director Colin Johanson, but today ArenaNet has announced that the panel will be hosted by Jennifer Hale, a star voice actress with a long list of work including Queen Jennah in Guild Wars 2.

At 1PM Eastern this afternoon, tickets to the new PAX South went on sale! One-day badges are $30 each, with three-day full weekend badges at a reasonable $65. Grab 'em quick!

PAX South is the newest PAX event in the five-event lineup. PAX South is hosted in San Antonio, Texas, happening from January 23rd to 25th, 2015.
