I've been keeping track of different herbs and cloth prices and number of units on my AH using the Open Office version of Excel, and I'd like to know if there's a way to take an average of different sheets within the same save file and average the different cells together? It would be kind of strange if you couldn't, but I'm not sure how to do it.

so you are trying to add and average amounts/cells on different tabs of the same file?

easy. pick an empty cell hit = then change tabs and click on the first amount. hit + and repeat. hit enter when you have all of the amounts and it should sum it for you.
if you want an average of that add ()/# of cells in formula to your formula.

something like....
=(tab1 cell a2+tab2 cell a2+tab3 cell a2)/3

....that help?

It helps a little, thank you for posting that. I've tried a few different formulas based on the one you posted, but I keep getting errors. I tried to google a formula, but that hasn't brought up anything that's worked so far. If I can't get this figured out soon I'll just do it the hard way by punching the numbers myself and recording them on the Averages sheet.

here's a conversation from my past:

buddy: please explain to <manager> why you can't average daily totals for a weekly average.
me: ---remembers manger plays softball and accompanying titillating rumors---
me: okay, let's say week one you go 0 for 1 and week two you go 4 for 4. what's your batting average?
manager: .800
me: no it isn't, it's .500
manager: AHA!
buddy: yes! i knew you could do it, i've been trying to explain it for half an hour!
me: ---goes back to sweeping pepperonis and mushrooms under oven---

with that said
