How to make lots of money with DE (guide)Follow

#152 Dec 28 2006 at 7:06 AM Rating: Decent
Your biggest money makers right now will be GEE's (greater eternal essences) for the higher end enchants.

You get em from 50+ greens, moreso from 54+ items. Just get a group of guildies or friends and make stratlive, scholo money runs and DE everything that drops.

If you have an alt that is a LW, you can have him make wicked leather headbands for fairly cheap, and DE them which gives you a fairly good percentage of a GEE or 2 from each.

With everyone PvPing right now to gear up prior to xpac, GEE's are a great money maker and are selling for 5-9g each on Eldre Thalas.

And of course, you could farm golden pearls to go along with the GEEs :>

So has anyone found another add-on to do this with? The auctioneer pack seems to still be down.

So far, my mage is taking it slow on this enchanting thing... lvl 13 and I am playing her. But other 6 toons just during the normal course of questing has been coming across greens and some blues and tossing the unused into her mailbox.

Found she gets backed up with both stuff to d/e and mats to e.

It doesn't for me. After seeing your post, I went and DLd the latest (1399) gamma version of Auc. "/enchantrix percentless 50" returns nothing, even though I can find plenty that fit when browsing through the AH manually. what the heck, even "/enchantrix percentless 5" returns nothing, when it should give me a huge list. "/enchantrix bidbroker 200" still returns an error message.

I have not downloaded the latest version this week, but have had the same issue on recent Gamma downloads. "Auctioneer percentless" seems to work now, but I have had no luck with Enchantrix scans even though the D/E predications are available for most items.

On a positive note, enchanting mats are selling high and I have made a ton of gold doing the strategy manually. My (now level 20) bank alt is able to D/E most of the items, and will soon be at enchanting 225. Then I will only need to send (I think) level 66~70 items to my main for help.

I've come across a number of L64 items I can't disenchant - the message is "must be level 275 in enchanting". I think it works on ItemLevel rather than ItemMinLevel needed to use.

from WoW-Wiki:

Quote:
itemLevel
Integer - The item level of this item.
itemMinLevel
Integer - The minimum level required to use the item, 0 being no level requirement.

I wonder if a macro could be made that would allow a display of ItemLevel?

Interesting... I never noticed this because I would just ship items that my bank alt (225) couldn't DE to my main (305) for assistance. Let us know if you get the item level display working.

The latest Auctioneer pack includes the functionality to display the underlying item level. I am not sure which module (maybe itemizer?)includes the functionality, but basically it will list the item's level, vendor buy and sell values, and how many vendors sell it. Additionally, when you select D/E, it lists the level of enchanting required. If you do not have the required level, it will show up in red, otherwise it is in a light blue font. The vendor buy and sell prices are not updated for the TBC items, but it still works well.

I was first kind of dissapointed the /precentless command still doesn't work, but actually, Enchantrix doesn't seem to be so reliable anymore.
Since The Burning Crusade the prices of the maths seem to have changed so much,
that the results of the /percentless aren't accurate anymore.
Prices of the maths are much lower than they used to be, it doesn't even seems worth it anymore at all. I don't know why, maybe people are concentrating on other things than enchants right now...

I hope it all returns to the way it was, because i loved this way of making money.

So for a noob who is tired of fishing Deviates and Oily Blackmouths to make $$ on my main who is Skinning/LW I started a Tailoring/Enchanting alt who is lvl 15 after a few hours of playing. So my question is...Should I level my enchanter to 225 and take him into Ulda. to get to 300 or will 225 be enough. My main is only 37 but 55 gold wont buy a mount and my LW is only 170 so I'm thinking about switching him to Enchanting but would it be worth it? Should I just lvl the alt and keep the main at LW so I can benefit from Leather he can make pretty soon?

Thanks!

P.S. This is a cool way to make $$...even cooler than alliance fishing at Lushwater :)

Really? on my server, someone is playing fast and loose with enchanting mats. I think they're trying to corner the market. A couple of weeks ago, price of dream dust shot up to 99G/stack, and I had to figur out the buy price manually. Yesterday, the price of strange dust went from 1G25S to 12G. Again, I'm having to figure out the buy peice manually. If I persevere, the jerk that's messing with the prices may just give up. After all, prices of dream dust are back to normal.

Do you think someone is buying up all the dust to raise prices? Wouldn't it work to your benefit if you D/E stuff so he buys them up :)

Anyways, I envy the price for dust on your server. Dream dust go for 5g/stack on mine. I know, since I just bought out one for my enchanter. Maybe someone is following this money making guide and made too many dusts that outstrip demands :)

The prices of (higher level) enchanting mats have gone up significantly on my server since the expansion. I have made an absolute killing on Greater Eternal Essences (10g each) , Large Brilliant Shards (7~8g each), and Greater Nether Essences (5~6g each) last week. I have gone to a mostly manual method of buying, but was able to make about 300~400g last week. It looks like I might be able to get that epic flying mount after all. :)

As a side note, the DE mats from Outland have not been selling for nearly as much. I have a hard time even selling the Essences. As such, looking in the 57~60 range takes some careful selection. Thankfully Enchantrix simplifies this with its disenchant predictions.

That might actually be what happened. If so, that price-gouging jerk lost his shirt. Prices on strange dust appear to have re-stabilized at the old level. Perhaps it's due to the fact that I pump out a lot of strange dust, and my auctions can actually stabilize prices. Based on my views of the AH, I'm one of the most prolific mat sellers in my realm. This morning, I went to over 1750G in my backpack.

I tried the guide, and enchantrix still isn't working. It just comes up with "Command disabled until next major release". I have no idea which release its talking about nor when it'll come. Help?
#172 Feb 11 2007 at 4:14 PM Rating: Decent
Is anyone else having problems getting it to work, cause it keeps saying disables. So does that mean its not working, or am I doing something wrong.

Enchantriz works just fine. The two commands for easy mode (percentless and bidbroker) have not been put into the current gamma version. That doesn't affect the display of the prices. HSP divided by 2 will give you the amount that percentless 50 would give you as a buyout price. Anything lower than that will give you even more profit. You can also use that same amount as a bidbroker price, and place bids on items that will double (or better) your gold.

So, Enchantrix works, but you also have to put in an effort as well.

Hey people, I've got a question. My enchanting is currently 140 and I've got Enchantrix and Auctioneer. I'm wondering if it's worth it trying to use this for making money when you can DE like 44-45 items as highest? Or should i spend some money getting it to 225 or so?

Thanks.
#175 Feb 17 2007 at 5:39 PM Rating: Decent
personally I would get to 225, I just did today and was finally able to start DEing the greens that I have been sent from my 64 main.
#176 Feb 18 2007 at 10:37 PM Rating: Decent
first time i seen this thread, i have a level (just dinged 30 enchanter/miner alt). i have been 225 enchanting since level 20 and had been DEing things for months. i had enchantrix/auctioneer when i first started but i havent since patch 2.0 and a full version of each has been available. im trying to get level 35 now that my main is 70 so that i can DE the higher then level 64 things to sell those mats or give them to my gfs enchanter alt like i had been doing.

i used to just sell the mats (once i was max level) at a fair price. but lately ive been getting a spending bug and going crazy. i started with like 20g on him way back when he was level 1 and hes up to 400 today. i buy lots of mostly lower level dusts/essences and resell them or buy items to DE like everyone else. i dont do no percentile thing or watever i have my own way of determining price thats just way to strange to even say, but it works for the most part, lol.

my fastest selling items lately are strange dust and soul dust which i just cant get enough of from DEing things. heres my price breakdown on what i mainly sell:

my price -------- AH ****/main seller price
strange dust: 5 for 60-70s ------- 20 for 10g 99s 99c
soul dust: 2 for 60 -------------- 10 for 9g 99s 99c
vision dust: 41s each ------------- 49s 99c each
greater magic essence: 60s each --- 10 for 9g 99s 99c
greater astral essence: 88s each -- nobody else really sells it (weird, yes)
arcane dust: 3 for 5g 55s --------- 1g 49s 49c each or 20 for 39g 99s 99c
greater mystic essence: 65s each -- not sold much at all
dream dust: 88s each -------------- 99s 99c each

GEEs generally sell for 10g 99s 99c each
illusion dusts for 1g 49s 99c each
G Nether E for 4g 99s 99c each
LBS go for 4g 99s 99c as well

i dont sell eternal/nether essences or illusion dust or shards, keeping those for the 225-300+ leveling of enchanting along with 100 vision/dream dusts. figure i should have enough to get 300+. will be nice just needing a summon to shat instead of stupid uldaman run thats for sure.

right now on most of those things i sit at 50-75% of the price of the AH **** who was at a time banned from the server (and i couldnt sell much at all) but now hes back and probably my main buyer, but its not him, i think its an alt or something of his.

ill have to do the wicked leather headband thing, been running some quests with friend of mine in winterspring, get tons of rugged leather i just been selling in AH, guess ill make me some GEEs, but not sure if id be making much more money though.
