How to make lots of money with DE (guide)Follow

#52 Sep 18 2006 at 7:30 AM Rating: Decent
Well, I have finally started to break into the big money. I started this whole thing last week with 1g. In the past two days I have brought my total up from 20g to 80g. The real money is in the Greater Eternel Essences on my server and man has it gone great.

In about 4 days (and about 1hrs worth of work) I have gone from 50g to about 250g. The limiting factor for me now is available stuff on the AH.

Going well :)

I might be able to buy mats for my corehound belt soon :)

Before doing the /enchantrix percentless, you should scan the AH first.

Well I decided to give this a try starting last week on my priest alt that is going to be my enchanting/tailoring character. I started out with 30g and right now I'm at around 100g. It would be more if the market wasn't flooded with dream dust and if there were more higher lvl items to buy that weren't overpriced. All in all this is great for the casual player like me as it doesn't take much play time at all. Thanks for the tips!

Man I love this but I think I am having the worst luck than anyone else posting. I started with just 1g and now have 123g, but I have like 100 dream dust that just wont sell. And the last 2 days, anything that can D/E into Dream dust has and I've gotten nothing else. Greater Nether Essence and Greater Eternal Essence are the real money makers and I just keep getting Dream dust instead. Even still, it does work and works great.

I have tried your guide, and it doesn't really seem to work here =(.
I play on Twisting Nether and when I do the percentless 50 it doesn't show a lot of items. Well, anyway, I bought the ones I found, disenchanted them and posted them on the AH. I checked the prices of the maths manually. I sold them for like 1% undercutting, but the price I got for the maths wasn't really higher than the price I paid for the item.:(
I didn't really want to take much of a risk, since I'm doing this with my Main character. I only have 30g left after buying my mount, and I didn't want to lose it, so I bought the lower priced items. Should I go for the more expensive ones?
Does anyone of Twisting Nether also experienced this?
Or do I just do something wrong?

Okay could someone tell me if im doing this right?

1. I open my AH and click scan in the bottom left corner, its takes around 10 minutes, then i do /enchantrix percentless 50 and it brings up about 20 or so items, now, do i buyout all of these items and disenchant? or did i miss something?

Yes that's pretty much it =).
And then you can either sell the maths (the price can be manually checked by checking the AH or you can check with Auctioneer), or you can keep the maths to lvl your enchanting.

This sounds exactly right. If you are still unsure, just buy out the top few items the first day and compare the amount invested versus how much you make from selling the enchanting mats.

I have been playing around with this strategy a bit more lately. I usually start with percentless 50, buy everything above level 30, and then run percentless 40 to see if any nice level 50+ items appear. I tried using /enchantrix bidbroker 100 as well, but all of the items were bought out or outbid. (bidbroker checks minimum bid against predicted disenchanted value. The number 100 specifies the desired price difference in silver)

After running percentless 30 one time for amusement, I noticed that I could not scroll up to the beginning of the list. Is there a way to expand the number of lines available in the chat window? (Or did I miss something else?)

you can expand it. make sure you have the window unlocked. you can click at the top of the window (not the tab) and stretch it.

Does this increase the total amount of text that can be stored in the window, or only what you can see without scrolling? My problem is that the list is so long at 30 percent, that the top items are lost, even when I scroll all the way to the beginning of the window. If I run the percentless 30 option in my chat window, I can see lines of items disappearing as more chat is added at the bottom.

I dont think it increases the total amount, just the amount that is showed at the time.

Altough you might want to try some chat addons? Dont know any, just came in my mind-.

and also after you buy some of the items (say 25 or so) do a /clear and then reload the table, it should be updated of the items you bought (I Believe).

Keep in mind that all the dusts that dont sell at that moment can be sold at a later time and maybe you need to buyout the cheaper dusts (those that are offered below market price)

And also important is to sell in stacks of 1 , astral essence (i found out) only sells good when you stack it in 1's
strange dust on the other hand sells better in stacks of 20

I think the status is actually updated when you purchase an item. I normally start with percentless 50 and buy the items that meet my criteria. Then I run 40 and 30. When I use this method, items I purchased do not appear on later scans. (This only works for items I buy, not items that are purchased by other players) Percentless 30 works on days when there are fewer items listed on the AH. Thanks for the advice about a chat add-on. I will have a look if percentless 30 starts to block up again.

I would also like to state again that this strategy is awesome! It is so simple, but the gold/time spent ratio is superior to all fishing and farming methods I have tried so far. Sometimes I end up with too many of a certain dust or essence, but they do eventually sell. (I check with Enchantrix and don't buy the items that generate more over-supply) For those who are having bad luck with the strategy, try running a lower percentage or buying only higher level items. I don't even mess with items below level 30.

Selling enchanting materials was great on my server last year. I made thousands of gold. Then people on the alliance caught on, and it became a very low-profit venture. It was still good on the horde side, though, and I made hundreds more there. Several weeks ago, that changed, and now the horde side is even cheaper.
Happened right about the time this thread started

I just tried this in order to get what I should bid on. If I get overbid, I get my money back, and if I don't, there's a 2 gold profit in every disenchant.

/enchantrix bidbroker 200

So let me get this straight. Firstly you get Enchantrix and Auctioneer add-on. then you scan the entire auction house by clicking on the scan button in the AH. after this you type into-general trade?-/enchantrix percentless 50 (or do you type it into the auction house scan line?. after this you buy all the items that pop up (or all of them you can afford) then D/E them. after this you put them in the AH but do you have to check wat the other prices are going for or does the auctioneer add-on put it up for what it needs to be?
i am confused lol but is what i said correct?

You write the /percentless to the chat prompt (which comes up when you push enter). Just like doing /dance

Adn usually the auctioneer calculates nice price for items and you dont have to check anything, but if you want to be sure that the auctioneer price database isnt screwed up (this will rarely happen when you scan more often)

Good luck^^ hope this helped
