ENM60: "Pulling the Strings"

This is a solo ENM fight, entered from Movalpolis. To trigger it, talk to Twinkbrix at the southern end of the map; you must trade him an amount of gil ranging from 2k to 10k.
He will roll dice, and if you win the roll you will recieve a key item to enter the ENM. You must trade Twinkbrix an additional 2k, and he will teleport you to the ENM.

There are two NMs inside the fight, the Fantoccini (a wooden Hume puppet) and the Fantocciniman (a Moblin). To win the ENM, you must fight the Fantoccini, who will be the same job you are.
Your subjob is removed for the duration of the fight; this is basically a Maat fight lite.

I'm 2/2 on this fight now; the video here was taken on the second fight, to share strategy and let those who haven't been inside the fight to see what it's like. ^^

To win this I go in the direction of melee over magic. The strategy I use is essentially to outlive the Fantoccini; I've found that using this technique, and conserving MP throughout the fight, the outcome of the dice won't really matter much in the end. When you get a boost it's a nice bonus, but a boost on the Fantoccini won't make or break the fight.

The only danger with this strategy is running out of time. To help avoid that I usually begin heavy DOT (Bio/Poison II) and nuking toward 50-40% NM life.

The Fantoccini, for red mages at least, is not at all a difficult adversary. I have never seen it cast either Cures or Silence, the only two spells that would really make killing it difficult. It doesn't nuke unless the dice tell it to, and it hits for around 20-30 damage. It neither debuffs you nor buffs itself.
The danger is Spirits Within, especially for Taru players. I took a hit from it very early in this fight, and it landed for some pretty solid damage. When it does nuke, it usually nukes for pretty good damage as well.

yea rdm enm60 is fun. i use enspell with hornetneedle instead of sword tho. last time i tried it the gob gave the puppet chainspell 2 times and full hp 2 times (once at 3% ~_~). still won but took forever XD. during it's chainspell it can and will buff itself, dispel you if you are near, cure4 itself if you are oor, and occasionally nuke.

My internet has been spotty, and my computer seems to be spanking the FTP port around (even though nothing else is using FTP, my firewall is open etc... ; ; )

I'm sorry for the many of you that tried to DL it and failed, I think only 12 or so got through >< Again, if anyone knows where I can host this let me know...I have Internet space, but the filesize limit is 5 MB -_-

Using an FTP program like WSFTP or CuteFTP might work better, although I apologize for suggesting you DL a program just to see this ><

For FTP programs:
FTP: ronfaure.sytes.net
User: Anonymous
Pass: (none)

Congratulations! That's a very fun fight, and I do it pretty much exactly like you did with almost exactly the same equipment.

Congratulations Sioux, very fun fight indeed. My second try at the fight the mannequin nailed me with a Spirits Within ><. Fifth try I finally got the Rdm ring "Sanation Ring," my precious.

*insert fanfare and blaring trumpeteers*

It worked just fine for me, and I must say, seeing a RDM just casually hanging out while destroying their foes, is pretty impressive.

Rate ups for a fine job and a NICE video.

Well, I finally got off my lazy butt(actually I was sitting the whole time I dl'd this) and downloaded the video, had been meaning to for a while now but downloading while in an exp party isn't a wise thing to do while palying on PS2. Plus, the way Aunika praised it last night I had to.

Good show! I don't know if it was planed or not but I noticed a few times during the chorus of Du Hast(sp) the sword attacks were timed in sync with when he'd go, "NINE!" Nice touch even if it was coincedence(again with the sp, never said I was good at it.)

Again, good show! Just hope it goes as smoothly for me when I finally decide to try it.
