Does allakhazam sell our e-mail addresses? (was forum=21)Follow

Since the WoW phishing e-mails have started, I have deleted over 200 from my e-mail account all of which is being 'sent' from my Zam registered e-mail address. It's gotten a bit ridiculous and I don't see it ending any time in the future. Not happy.

The vast majority of major mmorpg fansites have had security issues, and as far as security issues go, this isn't exactly a big one.

When was that? =o

Agreed. My account on WoW was compromised recently, and I came up totally clean.

When exactly was this compromise of the admin's account?

Ok, since this flood of alla hack inspired battle.net spam isn't going to stop: Can I get an alla admin to wipe my account off your servers? Your client isn't allowing me to change my address so I can be sure this "accident" won't happen again, so I'd just like my account removed.

Thanks.

There's nothing you can do about it now, they already have your email address.

These ones may, I'd just prefer not to have it sold or hacked in the future.

Use disposable email addresses.

Yahoo has it under options > more Options. When your email address get's jacked and starts getting spam, delete it, change the email address and go again.
My address that was only used here and by SE is getting abused by phishing emails since this breach happened. So I'm deleting that email address and making a new seperate one for each SE and alla.

Only trouble I'm having is changing my email address here, can't seem to get it to send me the verification email to my new address.

Heywood, that's Yahoo's doing. They block our automated emails "most" of the time. Email me with your old and new emails and I will get you all fixed up!

I haven't received anything recently, but in the past years I have been spammed at the email I used for Zam. I have my own domain name as well and used the catch-all trick.

I'm not blaming Zam for it though because it's entirely possible I wrote that email somewhere I don't remember :P
