Population density in Denmark is 130/km2, Just throwing it out there.

Fairly certain it doesn't include Greenland, though.

Or maybe it does. 130 per square kilometer doesn't sound like much.

So one of my theater friends was just complaining on facebook because she took her four kids to a place called Kid Zone, and asked for a discount and she was treated rudely. I don't condone the rudeness, but I feel like it's really wrong to go to a place of business and ask for a discount just because you have a lot of kids. Kids are expensive, if you couldn't afford them all, you shouldn't have had them. Plus there are playgrounds available to take kids in my hometown that are free. If you can't afford the full price of this Kid Zone place, take them there?

Also, yay 9k ding?

Four kids isn't really a group. Usually places have set group discounts at something like 6-10. Complaining about that is @#%^ing stupid.

Depends a bit whether she was asking if there was a discount or asking for a discount too. Also in my experience people interpret tiredness and directness as rudeness, especially when someone is saying they don't have group discounts etc

Sister-in-law has three. Her friend has five or six, they don't stay still long enough for me to do a headcount. Her friend says two are three times as hard as one, three are five times as hard as two, but four, five, six, etc. are all the same as three. Because you now have help from the others.

I have no interest in finding out if she's right.

But I am willing to volunteer my services for the experiment . . .

Alma is a safe bet and requires less reading than arguing with Gbaji.

Also, it never hurts to ask if a place can help you out, they may be able to give a discount to get you in but if they say no it's no.

Where I am? It's decently full. Not astounding by any means, but there are people around. The problem is most of the eastern part of the state, and really the south east, is basically deserted.

Here's a fun map. Each dot is 100 people, notice how few dots there are in the lower right. Those 2 counties in that corner are over 50,000 sq. km. in size and have fewer than 40,000 people.

You think parts of your state is empty!

Overall we average 2.8 people per square metre for the whole country.

my state looks like this

i live in one of the north east red parts.

13/50 overall as a state. mainly because its a small state though. it does tend to either be packed in at high density or really spread out.

I think it's brilliant that there's a colour for 0.0-0.1 and 0.11-1 people per km2.

Just the parts that don't matter. My city is pretty packed.

And everyone who can't afford NYC is in New Jersey, so what's the rest of the state of New York for?

I had a great time in NYC.

I'm going back there in May for the spring for music festival.

Cattle, farmland, suburban housing.

I ... guess. It's as mysterious wilderness as Wyoming to me.

It's actually cheaper to live in an average NY suburb than it is to live in an NJ suburb, because of the tax differences.

And upstate NY is for people who want to pretend they're still New Yorkers while living in a place that's sort of like Massachusetts or Vermont.

Never been. I enjoyed my time in MA, though. Granted, most of it has been spent in Boston. But the Concord area and Amherst were nice. Salem's cool. Went in October once. That was interesting.

Vermont has Hill Farmstead and The Alchemist. Probably the two most hyped breweries in the world at the moment.

The Alchemist only make one beer but it's considered one of the best beers and at least one of the best double IPA's. Hill Farmstead is so small and so popular that their entire distribution area is, well, just the brewery shop itself.

Literally the only things I think of when I think of Vermont are maple syrup and skiing. I don't have the slightest clue what else there is to do there.
