Hunter - unlearning talentsFollow

Something I don't understand - help would be appreciated.

My L73 blood Elf is currently double spec'ed (Marksmanship and survival) The first is fine, the second I'd be happier without.. I understand a hunter trainer can help me unlearn for a price - no sweat - I'm flush. What I don't get are:

1) can I just unlearn one set, or do I lose everything?

2) If I do so, then re-spec to beast mastery. Do I do so with all the talent points I've earned and just reassign them, or do I lose points and have to regain them?

3) Am I right in thinking that if I "lose" a set, my pets will keep their points and just have to be reassigned?

If you want to reset your talent points, it will only reset your active spec. If you want to reset both, you have to switch to the other spec to reset it as well.

I don't understand what you mean by regaining points.

How many talent points you have is based on your level, so you can't lose any and only gain them through leveling up. So if you have 50 talent points at the moment (I have no idea how many you would actually have at that level) when you go to the trainer and unlearn your active spec you will have 50 points to spend in your new talent spec.

Your pets keep their points too, but you need to respec them as well.

If you've used any glyphs they will stay in place, if you want to change glyphs you need to buy the dust stuff to replace them.

Just to add, your pet talent trees aren't normally reset when you unlearn your talents, there is a separate pet trainer for that. I'm not sure what happens when you switch from Beast Mastery, where the final talent gives you 4 extra pet skill points(Beast Mastery), to Marks or Survival.

Your pet has a separate talent tree for each of your specs as well.
