You should always have a draenei in your raid really.
Unless you only run 10 mans, but even then draenei's are a fairly popular race.

And you know best whether you have a draenei in your group in raids or not. (and if there's one in your raid but not your group, pester the RL into putting said draenei in your group)

So you know best if you should gear for 7 or 8% hit.

Yeah, I'll probably have a better idea of what I need once I'm actually in a guild again. Thanks though. :)

I've been talking with the leader of the guild I raided with from the end of BC to early Wrath and she wants me back, but I'll be deciding for sure once my new computer gets here on Monday and I can actually try out a few runs with them. The officer who caused trouble for me before isn't an officer any longer, so I should be okay with them.

Aah, guild drama. The joy!

Why did you have issues with the guy?
I really only get issues with officers if they are worse players than I am, cause then I go provoke them until the drama starts.
Especially if they are classleaders and/or think they're really good players.

Thankfully, there's very few of said people on forums, as they are the kind that tends to not even have the slightest motivation to improve themselves.

Ugh...If I remember correctly he whispered me while I was in H UK and started bugging me to drop group and spec SV to run 10-man EoE. I told him that I'd be happy to go but that going SV was a little tricky for me atm because I had very low crit and I would have to regem all of my gear from AP to Agi to get decent results as well as take 10 minutes to set up my action bars and notifiers for SV. I didn't really want to respec, but since it was an officer asking I would do it to help guild progression. He wasn't willing to wait 10 minutes, though, and followed up with an unneccessary spiel about how I was bad DPS and didn't know my class if I couldn't respec in the blink of an eye. Note here--I was second out of 5-6 hunters, and even there it was very close and mainly just gear differences because I'd started raiding late due to living with my inlaws for a few months. Not bad DPS by any means, and he knew it, he was just being an ***.

It was a good thing I didn't respec for him, though, because that guild run of EoE he needed me for? Wasn't a guild run, it was a pug led by a DK we'd gkicked for poor attendence, specifically pugging runs with other guilds during our scheduled raids and refusing to drop group so he could join the guild run. *******. Of course I brought this up to the only other officer online, pointing out that I felt as if officer #1 had been trying to trick me into respecing for a pug and abusing his position as an officer--I was told to shut up and grow a thicker skin and what the first guy did and said was totally appropriate.

So yeah, I left.

I've always gotten along with the couple that runs the guild, though, and since officer 1 is not even core raider rank anymore and officer 2 left long ago to follow the loot, I'm willing to give them another try.

I'm a bit out of practice, so I'll leave the WWS for someone else. It looks like you're not making any stupid mistakes like using Arcane Shot though, which is good.

Spec looks fine to me.

You're missing a ton of gems and enchants, which could really help you out. Get an enchant on that helm--if you don't have the rep or gold, at least grab one from WG, it'll give you a bit of a boost. And at least pick up a scope for that gun, it's cheap.

You're over hit cap by a fair amount, so keep an eye out for hit rating free drops since you don't appear to have any hit gems to replace. Switching from leather to mail will help with this, and also give you a larger mana pool (less time spent in viper).

Pet spec is bad. Drop Heart of the Phoenix and Lick Your Wounds, pull one point out of Bloodthirsty. Fill up Avoidance, get Rabid, and put a point into Wild Hunt.

You're missing 8 enchants, 4 gems and you have a slack enchant on your cloak.
Get a wolf and spec it with rabid and wild hunt.
You are wearing craptons of leather gear, in WotLK leather gear is pretty much never better than equal ilevel mail gear.

Edit: the only thing I see really wrong about your WWS is that you have really low % on steady damage.
It's hard to judge from heroic fights but I'm guessing you are wasting time and not shooting enough.

I have a question on mobs blocking attacks. I have recently read that physical ranged attacks can be blocked. I've also read that bosses can't block attacks made from behind them. Is this also true for physical ranged attacks?

I've always just stood with the casters who often sit right in front of the mob. Have I been gimping myself all this time?

Bosses rarely, if ever, block an attack and they block for little damage.
And it's simply not worth it to move out of the group for it.

Unless of course, you need to spread out.
Then it will give you just that tiny bit more dps to stand behind the mob.

A prot paladin however... ugh... Plate + Shield + damage reduction abilities + loads of block and blockvalue. Smiley: mad

Thanks for the info Aethien.

It's funny you mentioned prot paladins because that's what triggered my question. I was having a conversation with one about how expertise is a poor hunter stat. We were talking about avoidance/mitigation and ranged attacks and he mentioned that he noticed how much "blocked" came up on his screen while dueling hunters. It lead me to wonder if it was a big issue in PvE that I had never thought of before.

Expertise doesn't reduce block to begin with though, it only reduces parry and dodge.

How do I link to femaledwarf or any linkable spreadsheet?

Trying to help a guild hunter, want to link the site with him loaded plus some changes.

Also if I want for him to have True Shot where is the best spot to take a point from?

edit: Never mind I found it on the site. In the load setting option menu they have a link button next to the delete one.

No point for a hunter to take TSA unless you don't have an enh or blood DK.
Both their buffs overwrite TSA.
And in 10 mans SV > MM by a large margin.

That sucks, aura should be top since you get personal benefit from using it. Smiley: frown

I was going to ask a macro question here last night but I got it working... in case anyone else has been trying to figure out something similar, here it is:

Quote:
/focus [help] target; pet

Sets your friendly target as your focus, otherwise sets your pet as your focus.

Yes it took me an hour to finally figure out how to specify a friendly target. >.<

We don't always have someone else to buff AP in a 10 man but point taken.

He does more DPS as MM and we have a lock for replenishment.

Just a quickie - where does the Hand-mounted Pyro-rocket go in the priority list for SV (and maybe for BM&MM, too, if the place differs)?

Since it's not on the GCD, you should macro it into each shot so it fires whenever it's off cooldown.

http://femaledwarf.com says that the best combo is mjolnir/mirror, ditching the banner... generally, the femaledwarf answers 99% of complicated gear questions :)

Thanks for the link ^^ also how much armor pen is needed for mm to see a bigger dps jump then my build because 200 more dps isn't that great for a spec i hate
