I always wanted one of those WoW steins. I think that would make a cool present.

As for decorations, maybe some banners or balloons with the Horde sigil on them?
Maybe get a picture of his toon (from wow armory?), blow it up and put it on a big posterboard next to a picture of him. Like a side by side portrait. Hah! "Look who's turning 40!"
Or a toy train, everyone can stand around it going "Chugga chugga CHOO CHOO!"

Edit: Woops didn't see your update when I posted. I'm glad you went with the big portrait idea, I think that will be a hoot.

You know how a lot of comedians make jokes about how their GF's fathers were vets during 'Nam and have PTSD flashbacks where the comedian thinks he's gonna die? WoW players are kinda like that with toy trains.

I saw a toy train set once.

They've since been banned in a 50 mile radius around where I live.

I make a lot of cupcakes and confections of different types. It has just started to become a side job taking orders. That is the reason for cupcakes. I didn't want an actual birthday cake. Since this party is all about his favorite things, I tied one of his favorite desserts and favorite alcohoic beverage into cupcakes. He knows I'm making these, but he thinks I will be making them for him for at my daughter's cupcake-themed 7th birthday party.

So we are a week away - I can't believe it! He still has NO CLUE! I would like to post some pictures for those of you who have helped me out, but I don't know how to do that on here. Could someone let me know? I will definately be sure to post them within a few days of the party's end on April 20th. Again, thank you for all your help, I couldn't have done some of the things I did/am doing without your guidance.

I did find some Stormwind steins - on sale so even better. Not as good as the others but still on sale. I was surprised at how many sites are sold out of Stormwind. My FIL helped me out with the shields by making pieces of wood to attach the crest stickers to.

At this point there are a total of 58 that will be in attendance. I invited 8 people that are part of the guild, 7 of them are coming. The other guy is trying to rearrange some things in his schedule so that he can come, but that is still unknown at this point. Two of the others that are coming will be a total shock to my husband. It is the sister of a coworker of his and her fiance who live a bit of a distance from us. The cool part is he's met the sister a couple of times when she has met her brother for lunch. However, he has NEVER met the fiance face-to-face so it will be a huge surprise!

I am getting excited about this! Fingers crossed that things continue to go as planned.

You can buy a premium subscription to post your own pics on here, or you can upload them to photobucket(or another image site) and post links to them.

I'm not surprised. I'm die-hard Horde and even I readily admit Stormwind is the coolest city in the game.

Good luck with your party. :)

I forgot to purchase music! I was planning to download a WOW album from iTunes and I completely forgot. Any suggestions on which would be the best one to get?

Here's what is available and the release date:

Original 11/04
The Burning Crusade 1/07
Taverns of Azeroth 8/07
Wrath of the Lich King 11/08
Cataclysm 12/10

I was thinking maybe the Original would be best because it has the song for Stormwind. I know nothing about the songs. We're just having the music there as some background noise. We'll play his playlist from the iPod and I'll just add these to the iPod before the party.

Any input would be great! :)

Most of the music is available on Youtube for sampling. For a party, I'd go with the Taverns one myself, perhaps along with picking up the single Stormwind track if available solo.
