I'm having a totally different problem. I have recently been uploading and getting a "Upload Complete" message from WoWReader, but nothing is updated in my profile. My characters are still way behind where they should be (For example my 67 Mage is still listed as 61) and quests/equipment isn't updating...

Any ideas?

Did your character move between servers?
http://wow.allakhazam.com/profile.html?2236681

We identify which character to update by user_id/name/server, so if server changes, you get a new character rather than an updated character.

Thank you Illia - I obviously wasn't being very observant... Further down the page are my characters again on the new server we moved to.

Is there any way to remove the old character listing (Doomhammer) or is it going to stay like that now? :)

I haven't switched between different realm and I have the problem that my quests and bags arent updating to current status. Both quests and bags are from older logouts.

I have tried both normal upload and to manual file upload on this homepage but nothing seems to work.

Seems like I'm not the only one recently to report this, but my quests "lag" in getting updated. It's like they are 1-2 updates behind in reflecting my current quest log.

So pretty much ditto with above poster.

There's a delete button on the character preferences page.

Just downloaded WoWReader and ran it for the first time. It stopped immediately when I tried to download and gave me an error that the version check failed. The version it was expecting is older than the version I have.

Attack is still not calculating correctly; I have 808 AP in-game, but on Alla it's only showing as 700.

I saw one person in an old thread, and one person in this thread with this error. I have not seen it addressed so I will report it as well. Whenever I log in, on any character, I get the following error:

Now I did a little troubleshooting and disabled ALL plugins except for Wr2. When I entered the game, no errors. Seems a simple conflict right? But then I enabled all of them one by one and when I got all of them enabled again there was still no error.

This was a new Wr2 install so I'm not sure if a plugin was preventing WoWReader from making a one time entry or not but I thought I'd report it.

As long as I'm here reporting, I thought I would report this one as well having to do with reading/displaying the profiles.

I have a character named Æmon (ALT+0198). Yes I know those names are "officially" not cool but it saves me the frustration from having endless tells from people wanting gold and of course the gold/power levelling sites. Besides, if Blizz really cared, some easy coding would prevent them. :-)

In the .\SavedVariables\Wr2\lua file I see the following:

akz_profile2 = {
[" mon|Aerie Peak"] = {
["ranged"] = 300,

... so right from the get-go the character name is wrong. When I display my character on this website I get "?mon" and the HTML source looks like this:

<script type="text/javascript">document.title='?mon [Aerie Peak]';</script>

I tried to change the SavedVariables.lua file manually and this time all I get is "mon".

Certainly not a crushing issue, but I thought I'd post it in case it was easy and you cared to look into it.

When I type /wver in-game, it shows Wowreader's version information. So the plug-in is loading. When I upload the information after logging out certain things do get uploaded - for example, item information. So the plug-in is doing something. But my profile flatly refuses to update. Is there any way I can see what Wowreader is doing, so I can perhaps try to work out where it is falling over?

Hi,

New to the forum, new to WoWReader. Just tried to upload my first profile but like an earlier poster I just keep getting 'The server closed the connection' as soon as I click the Upload button. The data is there in the Waiting column but it won't seem to go any further.

Any tips/hints on how to fix this problem? Running WoWReader on a PC, btw.

Yesterday was a patch day, and it's normal for wowreader to stop working after a patch, until it's updated. If you're still having trouble, make sure to exit and restart it so it can download the update.

I know this has been "mentioned" before.. but I'd like to pipe up

Is there a Mac version of WoWReader?
I assume the answer to this is no, since most of the players are Win users, but I'm a Mac user and player and I'm a mac Carbon Programmer..

I'd LOVE to make a MAC "clone" of wow reader.. but I would need some very specific details about how WoWReader connects to the server socket and uploads data.

If one of hte administrators would like to get ahold of me.. I would be willing to donate the reader to the community. :D

That being said, I love the site and the parser

I also program in LUA so I can create a lua parser inside the program if needed, if the site doesn't do the parsing on the server side.

Either way, let me kn ow what people think.. I'd love to have something that works on mac for something like this.

I do pay you for the premium service, and I can stop you know. Something doesn't work - something important to me - and it doesn't work, you have a thread dedicated to supporting it, and I get nothing. I even offer to give you any help you want and still nothing. Could someone please tell me how I can work out what is wrong?! I have followed all the suggestions in every Wowreader thread I can find (and there are a lot of posts to trawl through) and nothing helps. I've tried deleting the Interface, WTF and WDB folders, uninstalling Wowreader, reinstalling Wowreader and still nothing.

Can it really be true that nobody knows Wowreader well enough to help me work out what's wrong? Even if it means installing some sort of debugging addon?

I have found, this is with the manual uploader as I have a mac, that when I play for a few hours, then logout sometimes some of the stuff doesnt' get updated.. I then login and log right back out and it work sfine..

I'm wondering if the LUA for the Wr2 addon should have a new a hook to update on LeaveWorld as well as EnterWorld

Just a thought anyway.

I have had a problem over the last 2 days, I try to start up wowreader it starts to load and seems to start a donload (I assume an update) then it says it can't connect to server, the program then comes up as normal. I then try to update and it says the server has "actively refused" my connection, any ideas?
