Coirnav just unlocked The Buried Sea and my buddy and I play 4 characters and recently hit level 75.

We've never raided, but looking at Asylum of Anguish, I was reading a group of 6 can zone in and loot the augs and other items.

Is there a way get 8 of us with out doing the raid?

Or how we can do it?

We are using Elaborate armor with augments and weapons from DoN era.

We have been doing Serp zones but getting beat up pretty bad, same with the last few expansions.

I was thinking we could do the quest's in Katta to get Orum to buy new armor, but wonder if we will need to upgrade first or at least get more AA's first.

Any suggestion's where we could go with our group's and upgrade are gear?

Last time we played, we were heading to Riftseekers Sanctum but got side tracked in MPG and we picked up 4 items off of nameds and never made it lol.

Thank you!

Coirnav just unlocked The Buried Sea - Level cap increase to Level 105 starting zones are lvl 100-105

your lvl 75

Asylum of Anguish I do not know what expansion unlocks it to level 68 toons without the progression.
but form two groups of 4 ( mercs are not allowed in raid zones)
use Mumble ect or create a new channel to talk and link items to the other group.

But I think your need to gear up before going to a lvl 70 raid zone.
plus your 2 groups boxing 4 char your want all the gear you can get but I think your need more levels.

We have been doing Serp zones but getting beat up pretty bad - if your 75 and then it might be a gear issue

if Serp is The Serpent's Spine it has zones starting with Level 1 to level 75 - it has crafted gear or quest gear

have you looked at what the mobs you are fighting some might be harder then others depending on your classes.
have you been trying to do the Quests in The Serpent's Spine to regear?

Your baz might have good prices for gear your level at 75.

The Buried Sea is only a level 75 expansion.

Our armor is pretty much all like this https://everquest.allakhazam.com/db/item.html?item=38552

When using the search feature with out raid items, it is hear the top. We haven't upgraded yet since we were going to work the Buried Sea quests to get Orum's to buy the armor from the merchants.

We talk over the phone, so no need starting up a chat channel, just didn't know how to zone into the instance with 2 groups of 4.

From what I read, had to have a group of 6 and didn't know how to add the other 2? Can we split the group once the instance is started then add the other 2 and they will be able to zone in?

Barren Coast is the 1st zone of the The_Buried_Sea and has lower range mobs you might farm

Barren Coast (50th-65th level; entered through Toxxulia Forest)

https://everquest.allakhazam.com/wiki/Everquest_Guide_The_Buried_Sea

Riftseekers' Sanctum
Has some nice Not lore AC augs you might need to farm.

Anguish is a raid only zone. It doesn't matter how you form groups but you need at least 6 players in the raid. They don't even need to be in the zone. I've done Anguish solo with the other 5 group members sitting in PoK. That's how the mechanics work is the point.

I don't think Anguish offers anything for a small raid of 75's. Sure you can kill trash but the XP sucks being a raid zone. I doubt you can even take the mini-bosses that drop the augments altho you could give it a shot. Even the trash is tough at those levels.

The other OoW zones are excellent at these levels. I remember levelling there fondly. There are nameds in Bloodfields and other zones that drop decent items and augments. Bear in mind lots of summoners and they all run super-fast. But a lot of fun and challenging encounters. There are quests for armor within OoW but probably not even as good as what you have,

Gates of Discord had those mini-bosses that dropped decent no-drop augments in Qvic. Those don't require a big raid to pharm. A group of 75's might be able to handle them, not sure tho. The trick was pulling them. Pet pulling used to work but I think they nerfed that long ago...

Thank you for the reply Sippin!

That's what I get for not coming back to the message board lol

We filled up on the augs in Riftseekers and I can't believe it was back at the end of September when I posted this.

We only play once or twice a week for a couple of hours. We are not yet 80.

Spent a while just sucking up AA's.

SoF just unlocked on Corinav and we are looking to hit 80 so we can start the Old Man McKenzie missions to get his armor.

Thanks again!

Good luck to you and your friends! It always warms my heart to see players contentedly enjoying old content and not doing the intense grind to level to the max. It's sad to see so many great older zones that must go days between visitors. I notice because I like to go back and wander zones I spent time in years ago. Sometimes I even discover parts of the zones I had not known about before. When a zone is a challenge you tend not to explore very boldly for fear of getting your butt kicked, of course. The tendency is only to go as deeply into zone as needed to XP and complete quests.
