Normal Encounter Strategy

This fight is a little difficult as the main mechanic is a stacking damage over time that must be dispelled.

When you approach Majolic, he will appear humanoid, and he is a tank and spank until around 50%. He then casts Bloodsurge, and turns into a scary blood monster. Bloodsurge hits hard if you are near him, so run away before the cast finishes, then re-engage.

Now that he is an ugly bloody mess, he will have two abilities:

Blood Contagion This places a debuff (Infected Blood) on a party member, that will damage the target over time, while severely damaging any allies near the target (so spread out if you can!). This debuff must be dispelled if you would like to win.

Blood Crystal This puts a random party member into a red (surprise!) crystal that completely disables them. Party members need to switch their damage to this crystal to break their friend out. It is possible to dodge this ability through line of sight tactics, however this can cause several complications. The best LOS tactic is to stand near the tree and dodge behind it when your name is called - this requires stacking the party in the same spot, also leading to massive AoE damage from Blood Contagion. As well, most of the time the boss sees through the tree and you have to DPS down the crystal anyhow, so save your healer some mana and spread out. Using LOS tactics behind rocks a good distance away is also ill-advised, as you will now LOS your teammates and if it doesn't work you may cause a wipe (especially if you're the healer). This is an easy fight if you just use the standard tactic of killing the crystals, wipes generally only occur if you use LOS tactics.

Note: use of LOS tactics with an experienced group going for the speed run achievement is okay.

Ranged players will have an easier time here, because they can spread out for the Blood Contagion, and they can switch to hitting the Blood Crystal easier. The fight is won if your healer can sufficiently control dispelling the Blood Contagion.
