Lufet Salt is exclusive, meaning you can't buy or sell it. However, as noted above, you can get 600 gil for 3 of them if you trade them to Nogelle. Rock Salt, on the other hand, is not exclusive but since this item can be bought from vendors for very little gil and is a very common drop from crabs it usually sells in the AH for like 200 gil per stack or less, 500 MAX... not worth farming. It's pretty much only used in cooking and a few alchemy recipes.

I might be wrong, but I think the reward has changed from 440 gil to 600 gil. Not 100% sure though.

Finally decided to do this quest (level 21/10). The drop rate isn't that bad on the River crabs (I got More Lufet salt than Rock salt). One out of every 8 - 10 crabs will drop it (I am not a theif :) )

Don't bother looking in the Auction House for this. You wont find it for it is not a tradable item.

And as mentioned before, it is not repeatable.

I've been saving these things since I first got one at level 8. I'm a thief and I've only gotten these by stealing them, so I'm guessing that the normal drop rate on them may be a bit low.

Lake Lufet Salt...

Is not listed under Quest Items... makes it hard to find out what the silly un-tradable item is and what quest it is for.

Following Corrections:

The River crabs drop both: Rock Salt and Lufet Salt.

You want the Lufet Salt. More importantly 3 of them.

The title you get when you complete this quest is: Bean Cuisine Salter

Note, the quest asks for Lake Lufet Salt, but the lake you need to go too is labeled on the map of Ronfaure West as Knightwell.

Also, the quest is not named Salt of Lake Rufer or even Salt of Lake Lufet. I forget what it was named, so maybe someone else can fill that in or I wil later.
*Lake Lufet

A) He wants Lake Lufet Salt..

B) Its not regular salt.. its labelled. The Crabs drop two types.. regular and Lufet salt.

Good luck

This Quest is apparently a one time deal. Do not waste your time repeating it.
