Speak to Carpus at -1167, -245, 2063 on the snowy reaches of the Howling Pass in Eastern Wastes to begin this quest.

Kill one each of the following creatures to get their samples (auto-update):

an icegaze basilisk in Howling Pass
a brownbeak outside of the Ry'Gorr Fortress and in Dragon's Head Drifts
a frostpaw direbear in Dragon's Head Drifts
a ravaging snowmane or a snowmane sabertooth in Dragon's Head Drifts
a woolly mammoth bull in Dragon's Head Drifts

Return to Carpus to complete the quest.

Carpus believes the soft shell eggs result from griffins eating one of the nearby creatures. I have been asked to gather blood samples that can help us determine which creature it is. It is important to get rid of the problem before introducing young griffawns to the pride.

Stage 1

I should sample the listed creatures and report back to Carpus when done.

Start:	Sample from a frostpaw direbear

I have completed my task and should return to Carpus.

Stage 2

Return to Carpus on the mountain top at the northern end of Howling Pass.

I returned to Carpus and told him my findings.

After gathering the blood sample from various creatures, I returned them to Carpus. Based on the reaction within the vials, he was able to isolate the icegaze basilisks as the problem. The next step will most likely involve me dealing with the icegaze basilisks in some way.
