The embodiment of disease, Nurgle obtains followers not by winning favor of the masses, but my spreading his rot which he considers a gift. Appearing as huge, decayed and riddled with sickness and infestation, Nurgle takes an interest in his followers, often treating them in the manner of a caring adult, which has granted him the nicknames Papa or Grandfather Nurgle.

Because he is so dependent of the spread of his diseases to maintain his power, Nurgle's influence waxes and wanes as his plagues become more powerful and die out.

Plaguebearers of Nurgle

Horrible to fight because of their clouds of flies, these bloated and rotting followers of Nurgle view the world through their one fiery eye and utilize their disease as effectively as any weapon.

Nurglings

Tiny putrid versions of Nurgle himself, these horrid little creatures swarm together wherever Nurgle's armies are present. Some of the more favored of Nurgle's champions will actually become infested with Nurglings in their orifices and wounds and when said champion engages in battle, they will fight with him to defend their home.

Great Unclean Ones

Carrying their huge, rusting Plague Swords, coated in the vile pus from the foot of Nurgle's throne, Unclean Ones are bloated, cancerous and high-ranking in Nurgle's armies. They often act as leaders to the regiments, embodying the cheerful almost paternal nature of Nurgle's character.
