Final Fantasy XIV will be playable on PCs and on Playstation 3 consoles upon the game's release in 2010. Square Enix is considering bringing the game to other systems including the Xbox 360, although there are currently no plans to make the game playable on additional platforms.
Square Enix has not disclosed the specific system requirements for home PCs that will be able to run Final Fantasy XIV. Producer Hiromichi Tanaka said the game should incorporate cutting-edge technology, which could incorporate high-end game specs.
Final Fantasy XIV is anticipated to use the most current version of Direct X, as well as the most current PC operating system, when beta testing begins (no distinction was made between Windows Vista or Windows 7).
