Murphy's Laws of Gaming - EQ2 Edition

Murphy's Laws of Gaming - EQ2 Edition

We've all been victims of Murphy's Law.  It strikes at the worst possible time, which is of course the law.  With the advent of gaming, Murphy has obviously decided to expand his sphere of influence into the gaming world.  Thus, I bring you Murphy's Laws of Gaming.

1)  The second that uber piece of gear you've been wanting for weeks drops, so will your ISP.

2)  As soon as you sit down for that long, uninterrupted weekend of gaming, you will discover that you just consumed the last of your food and drink.

3)  You will spend approximately six hours harvesting and turn up every rare except the one you need.

4)  You will run every instance you can and every drop will be a Master, but never one for your class.  Unless of course there's more than one of your class, at which point the other person will win the lotto.

5)  Just as you sit down to a raid your non-gaming significant other will decide that they require quality time.

6)  If your family promises you an evening of game time, you will inevitably hear:  Uh oh! from the front room when you go to cash in.

7)  There will always be at least two people in your guild who will log in at the end of the raid and ask if there's room for them...

8)  You will have a completely unidentified corrupted file that will prevent you from entering the most popular group zone.

9)  Your friends will hound you for months to try out the greatest new game ever.  Two weeks after you join them?  They all leave for another game.

10)  A massive lag spike will hit just as you and the mob you're locked in mortal combat with are at 2% life...  You won't be the one to survive.

11)  The last mob you need for your quest will despawn right before you kill it for the update.

12)  The double experience weekend?  Same weekend that your mother-in-law will be in town.

13)  If your healer(s) go afk, either announced or ninja, the tank will always end up accidentally pulling multiple groups of mobs.

14)  If your guild only has one of a certain class, that person will always log in late for the raid.

15)  Shinies will always be one you already have and the one you lose to the tank will be a rare.

16)  There will be wild fires two weeks before the launch of the next big expansion.

17)  Every healer multi-tasks.  Unfortunately the multi-tasking will involve changing dvd's right when the tank pulls more than one group of mobs.

18)  You will decide that you are done after one more spin on the goblin game, only to hit five numbers.  This will keep you playing for a good 20 or so gold.

19)  It is inevitable that as soon as you settle in for a long crafting session, you will immediately run out of the most used ingredient which will necessitate a long bout of harvesting.

20)  You finally saved enough plat for that amazing mount you've always wanted and have the status to purchase it.  You're standing at the horse merchant and only then realize that your guild is one level away from the one required.

21)  After three days of completely failing to find a group you give up and decide to craft.  As soon as you're settled in you get invited to a raid.

22)  The only instances you get invited to are ones for which you don't have access.

23)  Your guild makes a run on the one HQ you've never bothered to finish... while you're offline having dinner.

24)  You decide to pre-order the Super Uber Deluxe Collector's Edition of the Next Huge MMO...  and it gets stuck in Customs, so you start the game a week late.

25)  You changed classes because you could NEVER find a group....  now everyone wants your old class.

With many thanks to those who contributed!!
