LFG Tool (Rift)

Patch 1.2 adds a Looking for Group (LFG) Tool to Rift. Access the LFG tool from the main menu tray in the lower left corner of the screen or press "I".

Players can queue for a specific dungeon, join the random dungeon queue, or look for quest or rift groups. Select from the group roles available to you based on the roles you currently have saved on your character.

First select Dungeons, Rifts or Quests from the tabs at the bottom of the LFG tool. Then choose from your available roles across the top of the window. When formed, dungeon groups will be automatically teleported to the dungeon, but quest and rift groups will have to make their own way. Join your party and indicate your readiness. You're off!

  • Players vote-kicked from an LFG group will be prevented from being picked again for re-queues by that group for 15 minutes. Players put on ignore will not be selected for your group ever.
  • Players waiting for a group through LFG cannot be joined via public grouping or group merging while in the queue. Players in the LFG queue will drop out of it if they choose to join a public group or invite others into their group themselves.
  • If a player has to leave an LFG group mid-dungeon, the group leader will have the option to use the LFG tool to automatically search for a replacement to continue the instance.

Additional rewards are granted for completing a random dungeon through the Looking For Group tool - these can be gained up to seven times per week but are not restricted in number per day, so you can do as many or as few as you like each day of the week up to the weekly cap. To qualify for the special rewards you must be ported into the dungeon with your group.

Right now the LFG Tool is single-shard but that may change in the future. [1]

1.3 Changes

  • The random dungeon cash reward now scales with your character level.
  • Players entering a dungeon instance via LFG will be unable to use the LFG system again for 10 minutes, or until the group defeats the first boss in the instance.
  • The first player to quit an LFG group before the instance is completed won't be able to use LFG again for 30 minutes, although it will take pity on groups that have had repeat wipes.
  • The Enter/Leave Dungeon option now only works when none of the dungeon party members are in combat.
  • The 'Group Formed' popup now displays what kind of group you're forming - Rift, Dungeon, Quest, etc.
  • High-level players can use the Specific Dungeon tab to queue for low-level dungeons if they want to assist some lower level players through the instance.
  • When leaders queue their group for LFG, each member gets a popup confirmation window for which roles they want to fulfill.
  • LFG party leaders who lose a player and miss the initial replacement popup can now open the LFG interface to request another member.
