Summary

And so ends another chapter in the neverending tale of Vana'diel. However, as long as there are those who are lured by the thoughts of Paradise, the wheels of destiny will continue to turn.

Walkthrough

Head to Lower Jeuno and enter the Tenshodo Guild for a cutscene. Then go to Norg and talk to Gilgamesh for a cutscene. The order does not matter.

After you are done with the fight, do you only need to watch the CS's at Norg and Lower Jeuno??? or is there any other CS to watch??????
info.

info.

CANT stun him during his 1st form,
keep orbitals slept away from others,
poison pots help, not necessary if mages keep distance,
if ppl go down, just kite in a circle w/ gravity/bind til unweakened

CAN stun him during his 2nd form, land slow2 and hes too easy.
2nd form goes down pretty quick, chainspell nuke did alot of dmg.

thats all.

info.

Just an fyi, don't sleepga the orbs when they are near Eald'narche. Instead, have somebody kite them back towards the entrance. This will save the blm or rdm a lot of enmity from Eald'narche.

That should clear things up about Steve.

so... whats the point of doing this? do you get some sort of super cool item? do you get access to a new area? is darth vader truly luke's father? is the united states really in iraq for oil? what ever happened to steve on blue's clues, and who is this "joe" guy?

so... whats the point of doing this? You beat ZMs + PMs, + Storms of faith quest and then you get access to a very easy, short and fun quest called Apocalypse Nigh ( http://wiki.ffxiclopedia.org/Apocalypse_Nigh ), which will give you as reward the choice of 4 uber earrings (kinda like a super anoying DM quest):

Static Earring:MND +2 Magic Defense Bonus +2 Bonus Damage Added To Magic Burst
Magnetic Earring:MP +20 "Conserve MP" +5 Spell Interruption Rate Down 8% MP Recovered While Healing +1
Hollow Earring:DEX +2 Accuracy +3 Ranged Accuracy +3 Sword Enhancement Spell Damage +3
Ethereal Earring:HP +15 Attack +5 Evasion +5 Converts 3% of Damage Taken to MP

do you get some sort of super cool item? Not by itself, but as said above, it's requisite to a quest.

do you get access to a new area? Nope XD

is darth vader truly luke's father? So it would appear XD I don't believe them tho. You see, there's no hard evidence proving that the baby borned in the episode 3 and raised by Lars is the same Luke that shows up in the episode 4. No one can say the baby Luke didn't die and Lars quickly found himself another baby so he wouldn't get his sorry behind kicked by loony ol'Ben.

is the united states really in iraq for oil? Duh...

what ever happened to steve on blue's clues, and who is this "joe" guy? I think steve went to college. And Joe is soooooo cute <3

That and you get to finish out the ZM storyline. Why go through all the way to the end of DM and just stop there when you have such an easy fight to finish the story?

For anyone interested in this mission I've made a video of my LS beating it.

The hardest part is dealing with all the AoE and status attacks.

Good luck!

Provoke the kid not the Exoplates.

Stun the Exoplates not the kid.

Mages turn their backs to the Exoplate during the fight.

Sleep the Orbitals, don't bother fighting them they respawn too fast.

Use Poison Potions and bring Echo Drops.

Melees sub /NIN if they can as shadows will absorb AoEs and Ancient Magic.

These are the key things to do.
Quite Easy
# Jul 03 2006 at 3:30 PM Rating: Decent
BC was pretty easy went like this:
DRK75/WAR37 (me)
PLD75/NIN37
WAR70/NIN35
SMN75/WHM37
BLM75/WHM37
WHM75/???37 (forgot lol)

Went smooth until Phase Shift 1 shotted us as we were pretty unprepared for it. Then next run we survived all 3 Phase Shift's, nearly died on #3. But after that went pretty smooth, kept orbitals slept well and spammed Exoplates with WS'. Eald'Narche went down in seconds after.

Form2 was slightly tricky. you dont get much rest at all. PLD died due to AM, noone was able to stun due to timer and he was silenced ><. Terrorized caused slight problems towards end but main thing here is to just use your best moves and finish him quick. New title obtained and now im 1 more BC off from Apocalypse Neigh. :D

lol me too!

So anyway I just did this fight:

RDM/BLM (me)
SMN/WHM
SAM/WAR
WAR/NIN
WAR/NIN
NIN/WAR

We won pretty easily but here are the things you should know.

1. Face away from Eald'narche at all times. The AoE he does is extremely powerful stun and damage. Our SAM and SMN died at the start because of this. Sub ninja if you have to melee.

2. You don't need sleepga of any kind to do this. If you want practice sleeping orbitals go tank some Detectors. It's extremely simple. I went sleep I on one and sleep II on the other and followed up with gravity. No problems here.

3. POISON POTIONS. He uses sleepga fairly often so don't forget these. ECHO DROPS. Same for silence.

GOOD LUCK~
No reward?

I heard a Red Mage tarutaru named Avesta, famous for soloing difficult NMs such as Genbu and Bune, solo'd this battle, and I find it very difficult to believe that it's possible when 6 75's can fail. I tried using his website but it was down, so I couldn't see the video. If anyone has seen it can you provide info how he did it? I am so curious :p

Turn Back
# Apr 11 2006 at 4:46 AM Rating: Decent
The tip about keeping you back to the Exoplates to evade the AOE works btw.

Was just a bit out of melee range and wasn't touched by the Exoplates AOE at all as BLM.

Was cake :D

My group just beat this and all I can say is, it is much easier having a 2nd tank keep hate on the orbitals and kite them while a blm randomly sleeps them.

killing them off every tiome they spawned got us killed very easily but when we kited them, we all had nearly full HP and half MP by the time 2nd form happened.
zilart 17?
# Mar 26 2006 at 3:13 AM Rating: Decent
this not zilart 17, zilart 17 are the cut scenes after the fight. you don't get this mission till after words. this fight is part of zilart 16.

the 1st cut scene after the fight is in norg (you will get it as you zone in)

the 2nd is in the tenshido in lower jeuno. (all you need to do is go in)

i've herd ther is a 3rd cut scean but i have yet to find it. any one know?

I'd just like to mention that ZM16 is the actual fight... ZM17 is only the 3 cutscenes you get after winning. ^^

Anywho,
I just did this fight with a sexy party. It was a Linkshell party with one random person, friends with a couple people from the Linkshell.. anywho.. I didn't get to Fraps it due to all the space I took up recording our AA fights.. but, here's how it went.

Jobs:
75WHM/BLM
75BLM/RDM
75PLD/WAR
75RNG/NIN(me)
72MNK/WAR
74BRD/WHM

Form 1:
After food, buffs, and whatever, we went into the BC. (So amazing) Paladin went in and aggroed Eald'narche, all of us following suit. Restriction: DO NOT attack Eald'narche himself. The Exoplates will move with Eald'narche, and whomever he has hate on is the person they attack. There is no need to put any of the rest of the party at risk by using aoe or attacking Eald'narche himself. Anywho, he stays on PLD so do the Exoplates and all is well. Eald'narche just does AM and sometimes Sleepga II.
Now, the plates will use a nasty AoE when their life reaches 66%, 33%, and 0% life. The range extends to about casting range of the tank, so just have everyone but melees RUN WAY BACK when they get CLOSE to the life percentage. DO NOT wait for them to ready the attack, it will be too late by then and everyone will take severe damage. In our case, the damage wasn't really too horribly bad until the one at 0% but it wasn't worth risking the mages' life.
He has 2 Orbitals with them.. most of the time people will say sleep them, but the story from our Paladin was it isn't safe. Orbitals hit hard and put a mage in danger unless they are killed, and are a waste of MP killing over and over. They spawn far too often.. that's where I came in, and my good ol' Loxley Bow. Two shots from a Loxley Bow with Bodkin Arrows was all it took per orbital, and that wouldn't take long at all. They were easy to kill and I hardly took any damage.. they would usually be dead before they reached me. I can't say sleeping them doesn't work and hasn't for anyone ever, but it's hazardous and dangerous I'm sure, as well as a huge loss of MP. Other than that.. the fight went smoothly. Everyone stayed alive and all was well.

Form 2:
This can be slightly tricky but it varies, as our Paladin informed us. Have everyone rest MP as well as they can, that's what we did. We couldn't get to full and I don't think anyone could.. Eald'narche will charge you after a certain amount of time, he doesn't wait long for you to go to him. He can teleport around and be annoying doing so but it's not so bad.. you could compare it to the Ark Angel TT's warping around.
Beware of his special attack, Vortex. It gives you Terrorize and Bind, and he has something else that gives Silence. The Terrorize would last ~10 seconds or so for us, it put a hinder on the fight that's for sure. Also, he likes to use Sleepga II, so bring poison pots.. I promise it helps. =P
In this form, you pretty much just go all out, and fight as you would fight anything. The only annoying part is the warping around and special abilities/spells. He likes to use AM, as he did before. He'd only physically hit me, a ranger, for ~150 damage (the few times I got hit) so he's not all that bad physically. We had no problems - just fought him out - until the end. In his last ~20% of life we were low on HP, MP, and had just used Vortex. I was being hit but lost hate just as Terro wore and with 23 HP to spare. The White Mage used Benediction, and after that the MNK used Hundred Fists, and I used Eagle Eye Shot, getting hate. In the end he slept some people as their pots wore so most were asleep. I put in a Slug Shot and victory was ours.^^

The reason the mission stays in the log:
After beating the Bahamut fight, you get the final Zilart Mission, ZM18:The Last Verse, and a quest called Shadows of the Lost. In The Last Verse, you fight Bahamut + Jourmungand + Vrtra + Tiamat (I'm assuming they aren't the level 95 versions). In Shadows of the Lost, you battle Kam'lanaut and Eald'narche together.

A little bit backwards. The quest "Shadows of the Lost" is for Bahamut and the Wyrms, the mission "The Last Verse" is the brothers.

Actually, "Storms of Fate" is the Bahamut fight (without wyrms), then "Shadows of the Departed" is visiting Memory Fluxes in Promyvion, and then "Apocalypse Nigh" is the brothers.

The Bahamut+Wyrms fight is a BCNM called "The Wyrmking Descends".

Orbitals: two people with Sleep(ga) II is preferable. Orbitals tend not to stay close enough together, or wake up at the same time, to the point where they can be handled by one person with Sleepga II.

They're not immune to BRD Lullaby, but they are *extremely* resistant (we're talking unimpressive success rate and lots of early wakes from a 75 BRD with Apollo's Staff and +70 CHR here, so you really can't rely on Lullaby).

This is incorrect. All my lullabies sticked, and all of them sticked for the full duration. They don't seem resistant to lullaby in any way.

NIN/WAR, MNK/NIN (me), RDM/NIN, BLM/NIN, WHM/NIN, no 6th

All 75.

NIN ran in and agroed the kid and just stood there blink tanking w/o engaging. I followed and engaged the exoplates. RDM and BLM sleep the orbitals. WHM haste and cured.

Once exoplates down, kill the kid.

Bum rushed the 2nd form. Have everyone huddle together so he doesn't warp around too bad.

Wasn't even a challenge.
It -does- end now

Figured I might as well post this here, since there's no official page for the official last mission.

You must complete Chainsof Promathia expansion, as well as kill Bahamut's first fight, before you can access the last mission for both CoP and RoZ. More info can be found in the quest sections, because they're missions for both expansions, apparently. The mission name is "The Last Verse".

After that, Im stumpped. Theres something left out, and no finish to the mission. It wouldnt sit idle in the mission log like it is, it will turn to "No current mission." when you dont have a mission for that set thing. As it does when you get rank 10, or not start rank 1.

Anyone have any idea's of more CS's to finish this up afterward?

I have wondered this too, its the same with PM's...Mission log reads the last mission, after doing all the Cutscenes etc. and not "No Current Mission" or w/e. I wonder if thats because they are not done....meaning there will be missions added in a later update/expansion set.

Beat this easily as pld-nin for tanking

I ran aroung the monolith thing, kept shadows up and flashed for hate, it didnt touch me except sleep me twice with sleepga, other than that very easy, 2nd shape had some high dmg spells and killed our taru rdm, but our blm bombed him and we won ^^ good luck - by the way everyone else just beat on it while it chased me, so if u have pld, sub nin dont need voke just flash.

Beat this mission tonight. Perfect win, no deaths, no KO's. Setup was : NIN, SAM, RDM, BLM, BLM, WHM. All did a most excellent job. So, in essence I have beat the game Final Fantasy: Rise of the Zilart. Been a long time for this. Bring plenty of items for this one.
