This one is good.

A few members of my linkshell and i, did this one no sweat. The only probum was the first run. Our BLM "Elgreenerbeaner" was pummled because our RDM and WHM refused to watch his health >.> But after that we all did very well we only did 3 runs and a pair of specs droped. 2 assult earings and a few other things. This is a good one to do, but make sure you go with your "friends" not just any linkshell members, people you dont know are will probably argue that they deserve the more than thier share. Because i didnt get a damn thing.

Great bcnm if assualt earrings and axe are inflated on your server.(earrings 2m on leviathan, axe 1m).

Terrible one if you're just relying on spectacles to drop. You might get a pair in six runs...you might not.
0/6

Just went 0/6 on specs with my linkshell. Terribly easy to do if everyone knows their place. Few earrings, two axes, the bow and the sword dropped. Should average about 1M a piece. I'd say its definetly worth doing a run with your linkshell. A 15M payout for each spec you get is well worth it.

We plan on doing it again later on
OK, but not worth the 60 seals

Me, a couple LS buddies, and a couple pickup guys did this 5 times today. We went 4/5 (the one time we died was because the whm didnt heal the blm fast enough after all the mobs woke up the first time). Got 1 assault earing, 2 flutes, and 3 gold ingots... thats it. In total its hardly 3 mil on bahamut.

Dunno what you guys did differently to get the specs and multiple assaults, etc, but it didnt happen for us.

By the way, our setup was WHM, BLM, RDM, PLD, SAM, MNK. Basically follow strat others have posted (sleepga 2, and kill one by one). Only issues is at the mass wakeup when they all rush blm. Try and have him sub whm and keep stoneskin up, so he can get another sleepga 2 off. Good luck.
Awesome.

Great BC.

5 runs with Pld, Mnk, Thf, Blm, Rdm, Whm:
1 Specs
3 Axes
3 Earrings
1 Gold Ingot
2 Dkstl Ingots

Totalled about 11-12m. Great stuff.
Broke record 4 times. 19:14 was the record before we started. We did 15:01, 14:29, 14:45, 13:59, and 13:38.

Just curious, can 4 Black Mages, a Bard and a Warrior manaburn this thing effectivly.

Couple of friend plan to manaburn it to get earring for the WAR. Just wondering if it will work or will I end up losing 60 seals.
my first BC fight
# Oct 22 2005 at 1:44 AM Rating: Default
I went yesterday to this BCNM with this setup.

RNG(me) PLD SAM WHM RDM BLM.
We killd mobs in this order BLM->DRK->WAR->PLD->MNK->RNG.
Because I was the leader had some really usfull notes that I took from this fight.

1,As soon as you get in, just run next to the BC and elemntal seal -> sleepga2 before they cast shell on them. Then use ur own food and so on.

2,Be aware of 2hr of MNK and PLD as soon as they raids it , just sleep and hit other lol ;p.

3,BLM and RDM moslty sleeping the mobs and binding it. I cant stress more how important that blm understand this issue. nuking only in last mobs.

4,If you are a leader i advice to make the order of killing the mobs should be clear , by making a macro for example.

thats for our easy strategy notes.

Some usfull advices(thoughts for next fight),
-For RNG use holy bolts, I found it more effective than scorpion arrows.
-For BLM cast aspire on PLD as much as u can you need MP.
-Do fight next to BC so you can get the treasure in time.(my orb didnt get it in time after killing all mobs , Orzzzzzzzzzz)
-I would recommond DRK or MNK instead of SAM. becuse we needed more DD.
-Do not invite Ozzi(SAM) he log out in our last fight _(;_;)_

----results of the fight:------
We lost only our first fight cuz we took time to take food , put shell protect,, which orc did the same as well :(, sleep didnt last much and they killd me in 3 seconds.

Drops was crazy though, Someguy took less than 100k of drops
other guy took 5m worth of drops.

--hope this help ,

I shouted in jeuno and got a group together for this, none of us had ever tried it before so we were all sceptical on weather we would win or not.

Party setup: NIN, MNK, THF, RDM, BLM, BLM

1st round: We took out the blm fast and easy. when we went after the rng, our thf didnt sata fast enough and the mnk(me) got eagle eyed and went down. after that everyone paniced and **** happend and we zoned.

2nd round: We took out blm fast again, then on rng we got SATA off but I still got EES. this time I was smart and didnt have berserk up. After that we took out drk, and war really eaisly. The mnk is a problem because he used hundred fist. so we all disengaged and slept it, waited 30 seconds then fought again. we barley had enough mp to take down mnk and pld.

3rd-7th rounds: Same strategy as round 2 but we had all the mages aspiring the pld whenever they can. We also made one of the blms nuke more often and not sleep which made these fights faster.

Our worst time was 18:43
Our best time was 15:02

Drops were: 3 Assault earrings, 1 Spectacles, 2 Kabrakan's Axe. Total $ about 6,220,000 on shiva server.

Just did this one last night, five times. Pty setup was PLD, DRK, WAR, BLM, WHM, RDM. We were 4/5 only losing on the first one, which was actually helpful to give us a strategy. We beat our record every single time, which was pretty cool ^^ Got the time down to 16min and 49sec.

After your blm goes in and uses Sleepga II, I suggest the order of BLM>WAR>PLD>DRK>RNG>MNK. It goes surprisingly quick, and no chance of a quick death, unless something goes horribly wrong. The best thing to do, IMO, is for the PLD to tank one orc at a time, and everyone concentrate on the one. If some wake, and you start trying to voke/pull them off the BLM, you'll most likely have problems. Just let the BLM do their thing, and you should be victorious! :D

We got specs after the 2nd battle, and got three earrings, and two of those BST axes, which are actually worth 400k on Ramuh O.O
GL with this one, its easy, with intelligent people.

NIN/WAR
BST/WAR
RNG/NIN
WHM/BLM
RDM/BLM
BLM/WHM (me, taru blm 75)

I have pretty decent equip, but I made sure to wear spell interruption % down equipment because you WILL GET HIT if you are the primary sleeper.

Essential Facts:
Every one of my magic skills was capped for this battle. Dark, Enfeebling, Elemental. Enfeebling and Dark are absolutely indispensible.

Pull with Elemental Seal + SLEEPGA (not sleepga II). It should land, as long as you don't waste too much time. The reason the PLD resists it a lot is because he casts shell on himself, and shortly thereafter on his teammates. If you waste time, his Shell will pretty much guarantee a resist on mutilple orcs on the initial sleepga, which is pretty bad.

After 30 seconds, I would cast Sleepga II on the already sleeping mobs, This extends the amount of time they stayed asleep. By this point the BLM should be dead and the rest of the party should go to work on the DRK, then the RNG, then the WAR. It goes without saying that while the party is fightin the BLM and DRK, your BLM MUST cast Aspir as soon as the timer is up, to help replenish his MP supply. Drain is also a very very cheap way to heal yourself.

It's very important to keep the mobs together for sleepga, but if they separate it's no big deal. Sleep I works fine for Armsmaster, being a WAR he doesn't really resist it that much. If that fails, try Sleepga, then Sleep II, then Sleepga II. Continue casting in this order and never let your stoneskin/blink drop for very long or you're toast. Our RDM was a good backup sleeper.

Death is not the end of the world in this BC, as long as you have a RDM. Eat whatever raise they give you and just rest with your dark staff (outside of Battle Dance AOE range) between sleepgas.

This BC is cinchy if your BLM doesn't suck. We got one spectacles and 3 earrings, and a bunch of the lesser treasures.

We did this 5 times last night. BLM Sleepga 2 wouldn't stick worth a damn and so we lost 4 of the fights. We were pretty upset at this time but found a BRD to come out in place of one of our members, and we then threw in the last orb and went in. Got the specs.

Possible we just got super lucky, or maybe they just felt sorry for us.

I did this BCNM tonight with 5 ls members. The party setup was SAM PLD DRG(me) RDM BLM BLM. The blms basically kept the mobs slept and cured, rdm debuffed and cured, and I had rdm subbed. This saved a lot of mp as cure breath 3 was used about 20 times per fight maybe more.
We didn't get much in the first 5 fights, 3 assault earrings, a kabrackan's axe, 2 hamlin flutes, 3 peace rings, 2 dragvandils and various goldsmithing items (gold ingot various jewels and a few darksteel ingots). The 6th fight we got Spectacles an Assault earring and some of the other cheaper items.

Key to winning this is keeping with the same strategy on each one and keeping the mobs slept. When we went we did Keeney then Mindseye, then Undefeated, then Armsmaster, then Longarms, and finally Invulnerable. Our first battle took 23 minutes the second took 20 the third 19 the fourth 18 the fifth 17 and the final one took 15 minutes. We weren't really going for a record and we took it slow (sleeping the MNK when he used his SP etc.) But the strategy worked and we won every time. About a 600k profit for each person involved, so decent profit for everyone.

we did this 6 times last night with whm, pld, rng, blm, blm, rdm. Having 2 blms was very helpful in keeping everything slept, especially sicne both had sleepga2. First time we went in, rdm didnt silence the blm and well, we died pretty fast. From there on, it was all very smooth. The 4th fight, the rng dced twice on us, and that caused us to run out of time at the end, but we were close. THe pld orc only had like 20% health left and one blm still had manafront ready, but he said he forgot. In total, we all made about 150k from the 4 wins. 2 assault earrings, a few sarga bows, the axe, the instrument thing, few gold and darksteel ingots and many, various types of jewels. Thanks to everyone who posted strategies on this forum, was very helpful^^

ok, me again, figured I'd try this bcnm one more time... can't go 10+ times without at least one spectacle drop right? WRONG!!! won all 5 times easily, missed server time record by 2 minutes one time (finished just over 13 minutes). Only decent thing we got was 1 assault earring. Total gain of just over 300k for 5 fights (rng grabbed wrong orb, way to go Dany =P). Anyway, set up was NIN, RNG, RNG, BLM, BLM, RDM. We did exact same thing as previous post, elemental seal + sleepga II and jump the blm as the our rdm casts silence on it. Having 3 people who can sleep was nice and makes this super easy. Not to mention, one of our blms had capped enfeebling and a shaman's cloak (Lucina, u rule girl!!!). I tanked, rangers shot arrows, etc, etc, only thing to note, is everyone turn away from the monk when he 2hours and sleep him. Wait for it to wear off then kick his butt. When pld does his 2hr, shadowbind, shadowbind, bind, and let the mages go nuts. We used the same kill order as previously posted, Keeneyed (blm), Mind's Eyed (rng), Undefeatable (drk), Armsmaster (war), Longarmed (mnk), Invulnerable (pld). With Lucina sleeping them, the pld wasn't a problem keeping asleep... but not everyone is lucky enough to have her in a group ^^. So, it's nice to have 2 sleepers to back up your primary. That's why I like this setup. Too bad the orcs are stingy A$$H*!@$ :/

First off, thanks to all the previous posters for their input, I've tried to rate all of you guys up. I took a lot of the advice and used it while fighting this BCNM this weekend.

After about three hours and four tries, we were 3/4. No specs, one assault earring. Our PT setup was PLD, DRG, MNK (me), RDM, BLM, WHM.

Our strategy was for the blm to enter at casting range and Sleepga II all of them. In reading other threads, I noticed that some blms were having trouble getting all of them to sleep. Ours didn't seem to have a problem, but I'll wager he had his enfeebling skill capped.

After they were knocked out, the pld, drg, whm and I rushed in to kill Keeneyed . The blm and rdm were on sleep duty and kept the other mobs off us while we killed in order.

The biggest challenge is keeping the mobs off the killing team once you kill the first four. After that, there are only two left and you can sleep the survivors while the mages rest. I found that we had to do this every fight, because MP became an issue. After about the fourth mob killed, our whm was out of MP and need to rest.

So that meant the first four mobs were incredibly stressful as we hit them with everything and I shouted out who to kill next.

Our first try failed. The blm got incredible hate after the initiall Sleepga II wore off. Once they woke up, they pursued him and killed him before we could peel them off. We solved this problem by having the mellees voke sleeping mobs so they'd go after us first (as suggested by another post).

But even on that first try, we got through the blm and the ranger.

Second try was smoother. I believe our drg died, but he was raised in mid battle, rested, and re-joined. Our biggest issue here was time. The fight has a 30 minute limit. After we had killed and rested and finished them off, we clocked in at 28:30.

Third fight was pretty uneventful. No deaths. Cut our time down to 25:00ish, I think.

The fourth try got interesting after our blm was killed in the early part of the battle. But the whm got him up, and the blm rested on the perimeter while we worked through the mobs. Mana became an issue, so after three kills, we slept the others while the whm rested. Another important tactic with the warrior and monk was to be aware when they hit their 2 hrs (was pretty obvious). We disengaged and slept them until it wore off.

I can't stress enough how important the mages were to our sucesses. Our blm and rdm were constantly chasing down stray mobs who had woken up and were trying to eat us. Many times a timely sleep saved the whole fight.

Very very enjoyable time, especially watching the group perform as a team. I even screwed up and subbed thief, but our drg was a great trick partner and I think I only got him killed that once, by tricking off him

No specs, but we got assault earring and some other gems and gold ingots.

EDIT - Wow, rated down for sharing my experience with this BCNM? Gee, thanks!

oh, one more note, silence failed to stick one other time, no big deal, with 3 melees wacking away with dual weild, interrupting his spells was not all that hard. The spells that really hurt usually have a longer cast time, gives you more chances to interrupt it. just make sure to sleep them first... but that's just my opinion

well, since I can't get on cause server is busy (stupid maintenance :/) figured I'd post my experience here. well, having had some miserable experiences in the past with bcnm40, I was overly cautious on this one. My party setup was ninja/warrior (me), rng/nin, thf/nin, blm x 2, and a rdm. Brought along 2 blms with sleepga II just in case... well, we did it 6 times and only lost once. The reason we lost was cause I read previous posts where it says tank goes in and gets the blms attention then blm sleepga II... well, that was a horrible idea. Keeneyed (blm orc) did some aga spell (firaga3 I think) that put a serious hurting on everyone, next thing you know there are bodies laying everywhere and they weren't orcs :/ no biggie, lesson learned. Next fight, we had blm go up the ramp and get only as close as he needed to elemental seal / sleepga II. all the orcs were asleep. me, the ranger and thf charge up to the blm orc and start wacking away, at the same time rdm cast silence. keeneyed fell pretty fast then moved on in the suggested kill order... now, the reason for 2 blms... well, for one, the PLD orc resists sleep like crazy, so having sleep II to back that up is helpful, plus the orcs start getting spread out over course of the fight. so having two people able to sleepga II was nice. the rdms primary job was to heal when necessary, and kite any sleep resistors with gravity. now, blms primary purpose was taking turn to sleep mobs and emergency heal, perhaps they coulda got into doing more dmg, but we were just playing it safe rather than trying to set the time record. worked like a charm though, we won the next five battles and I barely took a scratch... oh, one more note, if you take a ninja tank (one that can properly time the utsusemi: ichi cast) then healing is not very taxing at all, however, when the one called Longarmed does hundred fists, everyone disengage and/or turn away so blm can sleep him. And when pld does his 2hr, he's the last mob, so blms can just spam away on nukes. Super easy bcnm with this method, average finish time was 20 minutes though, some of you may be in a bigger hurry than that... but biggest problem... not one spectacles /cry... total loot, only about 66k per person from all 5 wins combined (alexander server)... so... if you don't get the specs, this bcnm totally blows money wise... guess that's why it's so easy :/

First try: COMPLETE FAILURE.

Silence wouldnt stick. -aga II spells screwed us over. Badly.

We WERE going to do this 5 times, but after everyone died because Silence wouldnt stick, everyone left. Kind of sad... people giving up because of 1 death. :(

We are going to try again, and Ill let you all know how that goes. Untill that time... <See you again!>

1 BlM KEENEYED back row on left
2 RNG MINDSEYED
3 DARK UNDEFEATABLE
4 WAR ARMSMASTER
5 MONK LONGARMED
6 PLD INVULNERABLE
blm 2nd sleepga 1 yuk pld resisted so he suggested we kill pld 2nd we did and almost died we used alot of our potons vile elixer juices hp and mp and icuras wings lol rdm was back up sleeper blm tryed his best we played our best watched for there 2hrs and usually binded them with rng or grav with rdm or sleep with blm when they 2hrd was extremly hard without sleepga 2 but we won and got specs right off the bat 2.3mil lakshmi aka price jacked server other 4 fights we alot easier we had barely and juices ect so we buckled down and even with sleepga 1 we pulled off 5 wins 1 loss had great pt
me as pld i lost alot of hate with drk and rng next time id suggest my drk sub thf for sata and let rng steal hate b4 renki with barrage ect and for blm to get sleepga 2 was alot of fun and ended up with 498k split each ps watch hate while fighting rng mob he eagle eye shots pld for 200ish my drk did guillotine stole hate and bam rng eagle eye shot him for 900 splat ^^ and keep to the kill order pld 2nd made it alot harder
