I cant believe ANYONE wastes their time with this garbage!! With the recent 2 hand weapon buff, 1 dex = 1 acc. SInce this has dex -2 on it, thats acc -2, so already that "acc +5" has now become acc +3 instead. Dex also affects critical hitrate, so expect less critical hits as well! Ok, so, now we have a pair of pants thats STR+2, acc +3, Vit+2, R.Acc+5 and -2 to all other stats. Ok, if you want ranged acc or attack, get dusk trousers - all the same jobs can wear them. they have R.Acc +10 and atk +14!!! Also, they are far easier to get than this garbage! I coudl farm the 800K needed for dusk trousers on my server WAY before i could get a skilled alliance of 18 people for a CHANCE at killing this thing, as well as getting the pop item. In any case, if you think 2 str and 2 vit help steel cyclone more than +14 attack does, then I think you're out of your mind, especially if fighting VT or higher! People WAY overvalue the bonuses of stat mods, and if you think that +2 str or vit matters when you already have 100+, then you really need to do some research on how much that "+2" really affects yoru dmg (FACT! mathematically +2 on any stat that is already 100 is a 2% increase of that stat).

Correct me if I'm wrong, but it seems like a nice leg piece for a RNG?

This NM is not a waste of time. Heres why: Cannonball! You say dusk is better. Well, +attack does nothing for cannonball. Defense, Vit, and Str work for cannonball. These pants are ideal for that. Would I melee in these? No way. For 2 handers, you have a point....a very good one. But saying this NM is garbage is ridiculous.

STR+2 VIT+2 Acc+5 thats awesome for steelcyclone
#REDACTED, Posted: Apr 06 2006 at 8:44 AM, Rating: Sub-Default, (Expand Post) this thing adds accuracy + 5 so it wont affect ur ws and all those other stats are useless for DD and dex - 2 means its accuracy and ranged accuracy + 4 so these are great for pants.

Ranged accuracy has nothing to do with DEX. Also, AGI != R.acc. There is a corrolation, but none are really sure what it is.

I'll also note that this NM is the most annoying fight I've ever had. My LS set up a run for these and we ended up killing it only once. It's not that he hits particularly hard since that's taken care of by NINs, but literally every 30-60 seconds he runs back to his spawn point and heals/gets annoying buffs. No matter what you do, no matter how much hate you have he always runs back. What complicated matters was melee that weren't fighting it at the time (we were going for spike/burst damage as much as possible due to it's frequent healing) were nabbing the roaming mobs for TP and would CFG on them so everyone could get TP. Well, twice Kurrea ended up with CFG status on him.

Like I said, the most annoying mob in the game.

Not positive if it will work but u can try the beastmaster charm bind trick, it worked on antlions who would run back to there spawn point to heal,
when they started heading back to spawn to heal, beastmaster charms <mob> is bound, and then it would return to fight after it became unbound. It is at least worth a shot.

Not gonna go outta my way to get these when i already have royal knights pants to macro in. I would replace my thick set legs w/ them for acc. (not sure how much -dex would hurt my capped critical hits.)+ the -int would affect my ws's. If you got em' cool, but not a MUST have by any means.
#REDACTED, Posted: Feb 16 2006 at 8:54 PM, Rating: Sub-Default, (Expand Post) everyone thinks these are so great because they add +2 atr along with the racc, but **** that.
Um... yeah... Wootness

I have a pair of these 75 RNG on gilgamesh. Not too many other people have them, (not saying that no one has them tho.) What can i say... um BADA$$!!! Granted there is AGI -2, but these add the biggest STR bonus than any other pants an elvaan RNG can wear. If i could pick anything out of relic, dusk, af, Galliard, or anything else I'd always pick these. IMO the best overall pair of pants for a RNG.
not bad

@75, -2dex -2agi isnt going to hurt a Thf. All of my gear is set for str, acc & attk, including rings, belts, etc.

The +2str, +5acc and those few extra HP however may come in handy
Great

No? Maybe I'm missing something, but other than VIT+2, I don't see anything that would classify these as "good tanking trousers." At level 75, VIT+2 on pants is nothing compared to what you can get from other equipment. :P It doesn't even have any Enmity+.

Honestly...when you are speed-chaining VT mobs a PLD could make decent use of these. Tanking doesn't revolve around Enmity Bonus alone.

Thank you. Whats the point of loading up on +enmity gear, when you can wear vit and def, and just cure yourself. Load up on gear that will help your defense and hp, make it easier on your healer.

unfortunately defense is overrated now, and these pants are useful more for the acc, str, and HP
Got them a week ago...

Great for Steel Cyclone (50%STR,50%VIT), hence the only reason I own a pair. :P

They look pretty nice though...

tanking trousers
# Aug 15 2005 at 9:24 AM Rating: Default
No, They Dont look like good tanking trousers, Unless you're one of those PLDs that like to have STR because you like doing damage...or a NIN that doesn't need AGI :\

I mean even DRKS like this...with the -DEX and the -INT....It's PERFECT ! /sigh

Well, atleast for PLD, only Relic pants, Koenig, and Dusk Trousers give as much HP+ (aside from the Trau RSE pants).

That being said, it is good for PLDs fighting VTs. You need to do a bit more damage to keep hate easier as VIT isn't very effective to stack up a lot.

Um... DEX-2 and INT-2 isn't all that bad for a DRK when compared to Accuracy+5, in my opinion.

Ranger pants!
# Aug 12 2005 at 11:19 AM Rating: Decent
Heh, they give racc. Put 'em on a ranger!

Hell, for that matter, put 'em on a melee. You get acc and STR. Sure, you lose DEX and AGI, but long as you're not a THF, who cares?
