The Elemental Tree is the shaman talent tree which focuses on dealing damage from a distance with lightning spells. It contains talents which boost the damage done by spells, reduces their mana cost and increases the benefit Totems give to the party.

Primary uses

The Elemental tree turns a shaman into a devastating ranged damage dealer. In a party or raid setting they provide a damage boost to the spell casters in their party through totems and Heroism/ Bloodlust. Many people choose to wait until they reach the Outland before going elemental as there is not much gear to be found in the old world to support the spec. However, it is definitely possible to level as elemental right from the first talent point, if a little slower than it would be as enhancement.

Tier 1

  • Convection (5 points) - Reduces the mana cost of your Shock, Lightning Bolt and Chain Lightning spells by 2/4/6/8/10%.
  • Concussion (5 points) - Increases the damage done by your Lightning Bolt, Chain Lightning, Thunderstorm, Lave Burst and Shock spells by 1/2/3/4/5%.

Tier 2

(5 points required)

  • Elemental Devastation (3) - Your offensive spell crits will increase your chance to get a critical strike with melee attacks by 3/6/9% for 10 sec.
  • Elemental Warding (3) - Reduces damage taken from Fire, Frost and Nature effects by 4/7/10%. Useful in a raiding build when working on content that involved a lot of elemental damage.
  • Call of Flame (3) - Increases the damage done by your Fire Totems by 5/10/15%, and damage done by your Lava Burst spell by 2/4/6%.

Tier 3

(10 points required)

  • Elemental Focus (1) - After landing a critical strike with a Fire, Frost, or Nature damage spell, you enter a Clearcasting state. The Clearcasting state reduces the mana cost of your next 2 damage/healing spells by 40%.
  • Reverberation (5) - Reduces the cooldown of your Shock spells by .2/.4/.6/.8/1 sec.
  • Elemental Fury (5)- Increases the critical strike damage bonus of your Searing, Magma, and Fire Nova Totems and your Fire, Frost, and Nature spells by 20/40/60/100%.

Tier 4

(15 points required)

  • Improved Fire Nova Totem (2) - Reduces the delay before your Fire Nova Totem activates by 1/2 seconds and decreases the threat generated by your Magma Totem by 25/50%.
  • Eye of the Storm (3) - Reduces the pushback suffered from damaging attacks while casting Lightning Bolt, Chain Lightning, Lava Burst and Hex spells by 23/46/70%.

Tier 5

(20 points required)

  • Storm Reach (2) - Increases the range of your Lightning Bolt and Chain Lightning spells by 3/6 yards, and increases the radius of your Thunderstorm spell by 10/20%.
  • Call of Thunder (1 - Requires Elemental Focus) - Increases the critical strike chance of your Lightning Bolt, Chain Lightning and Thunderstorm spells by an additional 5%.
  • Unrelenting Storm (5) - Regenerate mana equal to 2/4/6/8/10% of your Intellect every 5 sec, even while casting.

Tier 6

(25 points required)

  • Elemental Precision (3) - Increases your chance to hit with Fire, Frost and Nature spells by 1/2/3% and reduces the threat caused by Fire, Frost and Nature spells by 10/20/30%.
  • Lightning Mastery (5) - Reduces the cast time of your Lightning Bolt, Chain Lightning and Lava Burst spells by .1/.2/.3/.4/5 sec.

Tier 7

(30 points required)

  • Elemental Mastery (1 - Requires Call of Thunder) – When activated, this spell gives your next Fire, Frost, or Nature damage spell a 100% critical strike chance and reduces the mana cost by 100%. Increases your damage and also gets a guaranteed Clearcasting proc.
  • Elemental Shields (3) - Reduces the chance you will be critically hit by melee and ranged attacks by 2/4/6%.

Tier 8

(35 points required)

  • Lightning Overload (5) - Gives your Lightning Bolt and Chain Lightning spells a 4/8/12/16/20% chance to cast a second, similar spell on the same target at no additional cost that causes half damage and no threat.
  • Elemental Oath (2) - Your spell critical strikes grant your party or raid members within 100 yards Elemental Oath, increasing spell critical strike chance by 3/5%. Lasts 15 sec.

Tier 9

(40 points required)

  • Totem of Wrath (1 - Requires Elemental Mastery) - Summons a Totem of Wrath with 5 health at the feet of the caster. The totem increases the chance to hit and critically strike with spells by 3% for all party members within 20 yards. Lasts 2 minutes.
  • Astral Shift (3) - When stunned, feared or silenced you shift into the Astral Plane reducing all damage taken by 10/20/30% for the duration of the stun, fear or silence effect.
  • Lava Flows (3) - Increases the range of your Flame Shock by 5/10/15 yards, and increases the critical strike damage bonus of your Lava Burst spell by an additional 6/12/24%.

Tier 10

(45 points required)

  • Storm, Earth and Fire (5) - Reduces the cooldown of your Chain Lightning spell by .5/1/1.5/2/2.5 sec, your Earth Shock's range is increased by 1/2/3/4/5 yards and the periodic damage done by your Flame Shock is increased by 10/20/30/40/50%.

Tier 11

(50 points required)

  • Thunderstorm (1) - You call down a bolt of lightning, energizing you and damaging nearby enemies within 10 yards. Restores 5% mana to you and deals 551 to 629 Nature damage to all nearby enemies, knocking them back 20 yards.
