GROUP ARMOR

Tier 1 (Oceangreen)

Tier 1 armor is standalone armor. It cannot be upgraded and cannot be used for any combines.

Archaic armor drops from nameds in the Oceangreen Hills, Oceangreen Village, Old Blackburrow, and the Temple of Bertoxxulous:

In The Void B and beyond, identical NO TRADE pieces can be bought for 765 to 925 Chronobines.

Tier 2 (Bloody Kithicor)

There is no dropped armor in the Bloody Kithicor theme.

Tier 3 (Field of Scale)

Tier 3 combines produce Concordant or Discordant armor (the difference between the two is minimal: mainly mod2 stats.)

Option #1: Combine a Seminal Luminessence with a Tinea of the correct slot inside a class-specific Polymorphic Cocoon to produce CONCORDANT armor.

Option #2: Combine a Seminal Incandessence with a Tinea of the correct slot inside a class-specific Polymorphic Cocoon to produce DISCORDANT armor.

  • Luminessences and Incandessences drop off various nameds in Field of Scale, Kaesora Library, and Kaesora Hatchery (both instances and non-instances).

  • Tineas and Cocoons are purchased from Zebuxoruk in The Void.

Tier 4 (Earth)

This is where is starts to get fun. There are numerous ways of producing Tier 4 armor (the differences between the resulting armor are minimal, mainly mod2 stats):

USING YOUR TIER 3 SOD ARMOR:

Option #1: Combine your Tier 3 Concordant armor piece with a Medial Luminessence in a Temporal Molting Cell to produce VESTED armor.

Option #2: Combine your Tier 3 Discordant armor piece with a Medial Incandessence in a Temporal Molting Cell to produce CHAOTIC armor.

Option #3: Combine your Tier 3 Concordant armor piece with a Medial Incandessence in a Temporal Molting Cell to produce BALANCED armor.

Option #4: Combine your Tier 3 Discordant armor piece with a Medial Luminessence in a Temporal Molting Cell to produce BALANCED armor.

USING YOUR TIER 4 SECRETS OF FAYDWER (SOF) PRISMATIC ARMOR:

NOTE: See this Secrets of Faydwer armor-making guide for information about obtaining Prismatic armor. The types: Chromasteel for plate; Chromalinked for chain; Kaleidosilk for silk; Chromahide for leather.

Option #3: Combine your SOF Prismatic armor piece with a Medial Luminessence in a Prismatic Fluorescent Mutation Nexus to produce BALANCED armor.

Option #4: Combine your SOF Prismatic armor piece with a Medial Incandessence in a Prismatic Fluorescent Mutation Nexus to produce BALANCED armor.

  • Luminessences and Incandessences drop off various nameds in Toskirakk, the Korascian Warrens, and Rathe Council Chambers (both instances and non-instances).

  • All containers used in the above eight combines are purchased from Zebuxoruk in The Void E, F, and G.

Tier 5 (Kuua/Discord)

There are six ways of producing Tier 5 armor. Which way you produce the armor depends on which type you made in Tier 4, and which type you want now (the differences between the resulting armor are minimal: mainly mod2 stats):

Option #1: Combine your Tier 4 Chaotic armor piece with an Eternal Incandessence in a Temporal Molting Cell to produce INFLICTED armor.

Option #2: Combine your Tier 4 Vested armor piece with an Eternal Luminessence in a Temporal Molting Cell to produce ORDAINED armor.

Option #4: Combine your Tier 4 Chaotic armor piece with an Eternal Luminessence in a Temporal Molting Cell to produce TAINTED armor.

Option #5: Combine your Tier 4 Vested armor piece with an Eternal Incandessence in a Temporal Molting Cell to produce TARNISHED armor.

Option #6: Combine your Tier 4 Balanced armor piece with an Eternal Luminessence in a Temporal Molting Cell to produce TARNISHED armor.

  • Luminessences and Incandessences drop off various nameds in Old Bloodfields, City of Dranik, and Korafax (both instances and non-instances).

  • Temporal Molting Cells are purchased from Zebuxoruk in The Void E, F, and G.

Tier 4 (Earth and Korafax)

Tier 4 combines produce Concordant or Discordant armor (the difference between the two is minimal, mainly mod2 stats):

Option #1: Combine a Primeval Luminessence with a Tinea of the correct slot inside a class-specific Polymorphic Cocoon to produce CONCORDANT armor.

Option #2: Combine a Primeval Incandessence with a Tinea of the correct slot inside a class-specific Polymorphic Cocoon to produce DISCORDANT armor.

  • Tineas and Cocoons are purchased from Zebuxoruk in The Void.

Tier 5 (Tower of Discord)

Further Upgrading

You can further upgrade your Tower of Discord armor by combining it with the Luminessences/Incandessences from Tier 5 group nameds (Old Bloodfields, City of Dranik, Korafax):

Option #4: Combine your Tier 5 Chaotic armor piece with an Eternal Luminessence in a Temporal Molting Cell to produce TAINTED armor.

Option #5: Combine your Tier 5 Vested armor piece with an Eternal Incandessence in a Temporal Molting Cell to produce TARNISHED armor.

Option #6: Combine your Tier 5 Balanced armor piece with an Eternal Luminessence in a Temporal Molting Cell to produce TARNISHED armor.

Other Good-to-Know Information

Alternate Bracer Effects

Purchase a Silenced Tinea Deviation Chamber from Zebuxoruk. Place your wrist piece in it and hit combine. This changes the focus effect on the item.

Tavid Dennant

Tavid Dennant is found outside the Guild Hall entrance in the lobby:

You say, 'Hail, Tavid Dennant'

Tavid Dennant says 'Well hello! What brings a _____ like you to a place like this? Me? I seem to have misplaced my scarf, I don't suppose you've seen it? Long, wool, colorful? I can't imagine where I might have left it. Speaking of misplaced things, I've got quite a number of who's its and what's its that I've picked up during my travels. You're welcome to take a look if you think you might find any of it useful. All except for this [watch] of course. I also have a limited amount of [items] that work with armor from beyond the void. These I will even give for free, but you must ask me for them.'

You say, 'Items?'

Tavid Dennant says 'I can offer you sixteen total [luminescent] culling vortices or [incandescent] culling vortices, sixteen polymorphic [cells], or sixteen total or any of the [molting] cells or polymorphic [cocoons]. The vortexes will remove a luminessence or incandessence from armor. A polymorphic cell will transform a luminessence to an incandessence or vise versa. Polymorphic cocoons and molting cells will use a luminessence or incandessence to empower armor. If you get something you do not wish, just give it back to me.'

  • Say "Cocoons" to receive a Consigned (Class)'s Polymorphic Cocoon (functions as a regular Polymorphic Cocoon?).

  • Note you are limited to 16 free items from Tavid. Beyond that, you will have to see Zebuxoruk in The Void. (All "Consigned" items as above are available from Zebuxoruk and provide the same functions.) Also note that these are containers so you will need an open inventory slot to use one. If you ask for the wrong item or change your mind after getting an item you can hand it back to Tavid and get "credit."

Converting Essences to Lower levels

From a patch message on May 21, 2009: The Luminescent and Incandescent Culling Vortexes available from Zebuxoruk in The Void can now transform a higher-level Luminessence or Incandessence into a lower-level version with the addition of one chronobine. They retain their prior use in removing essences from armor as well.

From the patch message of June 10, 2009: Luminescent and Incandescent Culling Vortexes are now available upon completion of your third theme in Seeds of Destruction (The Void D).
