Void Knight mechanics questions?

So the void knight seems to function by absorbing or stealing magic/mana from a magic user, and converting it into pacts. These pacts can then be used like a rogues combo points to use abilities like Reckless strike and Discharge.

First off, one of the largest complaints that I've seen on all the forums that Trion still hasn't addressed is the lack of a proper UI for total Pacts. The pacts is shown in your buff/debuff cloud with everything else, and is easily lost among everything else. Really need something to display number of pacts, preferably near where the action point swords are displayed(below health bar area)

My next point of interest is a need for a more detailed explanation of the mechanics of the Void Knight abilities. Such as:

Thrive on the primal powers of magic, absorbing them as they come in contact. 5% of magical damage is absorbed and converted into Pacts. Lasts 1 hour.


At what ratio is damage converted into pacts? If I get hit for 100 magic damage, Void will absorb 5% of the damage and convert it. Does that become 5 Pacts?

Is there a limit to the number of Pacts you can earn, or is it a matter of how fast you can accumulate them vs their duration and whether the enemy your fighting dies or not?

What is the Pact duration? How long does each pact last, and does the counter refresh every time a new pact is earned? The ability 'Energy Retention' increases Pact duration by 15 seconds. 15 seconds over what base?

Do Pacts persist beyond each enemy? After defeating a mage, do the pacts persist until their duration runs out, so you would still have time to use Fusion of Flesh or use one enemies converted magic against another?



Any other ideas or questions anyone else has, post on here, and we'll see what we come up with.

I saw the pacts cap at 20. Earning a new pact refreshed the buff duration. I don't recall the exact duration but it was less than a minute.

They last until the buff duration expires or you consume them with an ability. Pacts are a player buff not an enemy specific debuff like combo points.
