Utility (WoW)  

Utility is the term for a spell or ability that has some special effect that is helpful, but usually not directly combat-oriented.

Exceptions

• Some combat spells with unusual effects (such as the mage spell Amplify Magic) are also commonly referred to as a utility spell. Utility spells can also be categorized as buffs that are only usable on allies, such as See Invisible for example.
