Transmute (WoW)
This is a sub-skill of the Alchemist profession and requires the use of a item:Philosopher's Stone. Unlike Elixirs or Flasks, a transmute alters the basic properties of one substance and changes it into another.
This profession allows an alchemist specialized in it to transmute some metals into others (think iron into gold) and transmute elemental items into other, more difficult to locate types.

What can be Transmuted?
Elements (air, water, earth, fire, shadow and mana), some metals (such as Iron to Gold), primal elements (elements that are converted in stacks to a more powerful single item) and some gems can be transmuted to other types of items.
The following charts are broken down into standard, gem based and primal element transmutes, as well as their skill levels, locations of vendors, etc.
