Rift Zone:Foul Cascade

Quick Facts

Screenshots

Foul Cascade is a level 30 instance that is located in the northern section of Scarlet Gorge. The only way to access it is to climb the winding ramps to the top through many packs of mobs. This is the earliest level dungeon that is shared in by both the Defiant and Guardians. Each faction has two quests associated with the dungoen, not including the automatic repeating quest.

History

In the northern reaches of Scarlet Gorge, high above the falls lies the location of the nest of the Gnar Queen. A nest of deadly spiders and other disgusting creatures is vile enough, but the Endless Court has conspired to bring corruption and death to these nesting grounds. Holding Queen Vallnara captive, the Endless Court has brought death and decay to the hatchery.

Fight Encounters

'Matron Verosa, Lesch and Gruze

Strategy

This fight has a total of 5 very fast phases.

Start this fight by marking your targets;

  1. Matron Verosa
  2. Lesch
  3. Gruze

  • Have your main tank pull Matron Verosa the other two mobs are immune and do not move.. During this first phase your group will DPS Matron Verosa down to 80% health. At 80% health Matron Verosa calls upon Boss number 2, Lesch. Matron Verosa will be immune to damage.
  • During this phase, your party should stack on top of Lesch to avoid Lesch dealing large amounts of damage to unstacked players. Once Lesch reaches 50%, he will call upon Gruze. Lesch will become immune to all damage.
  • During this phase, your tank should turn Gruze away from the party as he has a large frontal AOE that does large amounts of damage. He should also be facing away from the other mobs to prepare for the fourth phase. Once Gruze reaches 50% phase four begins.
  • During this phase, Lesch and Gruze are both active. For this reason your main tank had previously faced Gruze away from the other mobs and party. While stacking up , your party should kill Lesch and then Gruze.
  • During this phase, Matron Verosa will fight your party. He has a mediocre damage AOE, so your ranged DPS should be at max range. Your healer should be watching all melee's hit points.

Loot

Fight Encounter

Surin Skenobar

Strategy

This fight, for the most part is a tank and spank. The group should stay close to the boss, as he will randomly charge a person in the group and do a few hundred damage to them.

Loot

Fight Encounter

Krasimir Barionov

Strategy

This fight has five fast phases.

The first four phases are simple mob encounter that increase in difficulty with each phase. All of these should be grabbed by the tank and immediately killed.

Phase 1: 8 Non Elite Mobs Phase 2: 4 Elite Mobs Phase 3: 3 Elite Mobs Phase 4: 2 Elite Mobs

Phase 5: Surin Skenobar will release himself from his immunity state as his minions he has summoned to kill you have failed. Once he spawns, the tank should get agro on the boss and pull him to the altar. Every so often Surin will cast an AOE knock back which will send all players within a small radius will be thrown back. If the tank has his back facing the altar he will not be thrown back. Other than the throw back this is an easy tank and spank fight.

Loot

Fight Encounter

Queen Vallnara,

Strategy

This fight requires a lot of attention, two classes that can heal, a main tank, and two heavy DPS. We did this boss with; Tank DPS Warrior Bard Chloromancer Cleric

When the tank engages Queen Vallnara, they should be aware of an area effect spell (blue/purple clouds) on the ground and get themselves as well as the boss out of it quickly as it will deal additional damage.

While engaged with this boss, he semi-randomly^^^ will charge a player, hit them for a large sum of damage and leave the player with a DoT on them. The player that receives this DoT needs to be healed immediately. When the DoT expires, a spider will spawn next to the player that was charged which the 2 remaining DPS classes need to kill quickly. Keep your entire party alive, and bring this boss' HP down to zero.

^^^ In the times we have engaged and killed this boss, it seems the person who takes the charge is the SECOND person to enter his agro table. IE, if the tank pulls and then the healer heals the tank, the healer will be the second person to enter his agro table. This is preferred if the healer has a heal that heals their target AND themselves.
