Galkan Monk
Martial Artists whose bodies are deadly weapons, these fighters excel at Hand-to-Hand combat. Capable of turning even the weakest of weapons into a destructive force, Monks do especially well against enemies weak to blunt damage.

Job Abilities

Job Abilities are activated abilities unique to a specific job that enhance job performance in some way. This can include, but is not limited to, increasing armor or damage for a short time, initiating a special attack or triggering a party buff.

Chakra 35 Instant 5 Minutes Restores a small amount of HP.
Chi Blast 41 Instant 3 minutes Releases chi to attack an enemy.
Counterstance 45 5 minutes 5 minutes Greatly weakens defense but increases your chances of counterattacking.
Mantra Merit 3 minutes 10 minutes Increases the maximum HP of party members within area of effect.
Formless Strikes Merit 3 minutes 10 minutes While in effect, melee attacks will not be considered physical damage. No effect on weapon skills.

Job Traits

Job Traits are passive abilities that are always active for your job. Job Traits often boost stats, increase mp regeneration, or add resistances to status effects.

Subtle Blow II 20 Reduces amount of TP gained by enemies when striking them.
Martial Arts III 31 Increases speed of hand-to-hand attacks
Max HP Boost II 35 Increases your maximum HP.
Subtle Blow III 40 Reduces amount of TP gained by enemies when striking them.
Martial Arts IV 46 Increases speed of hand-to-hand attacks
Kick Attacks 51 Occasionally delivers kick attacks when using hand-to-hand weapons.
Max HP Boost III 55 Increases your maximum HP.
Martial Arts V 61 Increases speed of hand-to-hand attacks
Subtle Blow IV 65 Reduces amount of TP gained by enemies when striking them.
Max HP Boost IV 70 Increases your maximum HP.
Kick Attacks II 71 Occasionally delivers kick attacks when using hand-to-hand weapons.
Martial Arts VI 75 Increases speed of hand-to-hand attacks.
Invigorate Merit Adds a regen effect when using Chakra.
Penance Merit Adds an effect to Chi Blast that inhibits an enemy's TP accumulation.

Two-Hour Abilities

Two-Hour Abilities are job-specific active abilities with a cool down timer of two hours. These are often incredibly powerful abilities, but often have adverse effects as well such as depleting an MP pool or dealing physical damage to the player.

The Monk two-hour ability is Hundred Fists. Using this ability will greatly increase the Monk's attack speed for 45 seconds. Despite what the name "Hundred Fists" implies, this ability can be used with any type of weapon.

Weaponskills

Weapon skills are abilities that become available when a player has gained 100+ TP while damaging a mob with their weapon. All weapons, with the exception of Thrown and Instruments have their own set of weaponskills. Weaponskill availability is dependent on a player's skill level with the weapon as well as the weapon itself.

The following weapon skills are available to Monks:

One Inch Punch 75 Delivers an attack that ignores target's defense. Amount ignored varies with TP.
Backhand Blow 100 Deals critical damage. Chance of critical hit varies with TP.
Raging Fists 125 Delivers a fiveflod attack. Damage varies with TP.
Spinning Attack 150 Delivers an area attack. Radius varies with TP.
Howling Fist 200 Damage varies with TP.
Dragon Kick 225 Damage varies with TP.
Asuran Fists 250 Delivers an eightfold attack. Accuracy varies with TP.

Additional effect: temporarily enhances Subtle Blow effect.

Club

Shining Strike 10 Deals light elemental damage. Damage varies with TP.
Brainshaker 70 Stuns target. Chance of stunning varies with TP.
Starlight 100 Restores MP. Amount restored varies with TP.
Skullbreaker 150 Lower's target's INT. Chance of lowering INT varies with TP.
True Strike 175 Deals critical damage. Accuracy varies with TP.
Black Halo 230 Delivers a twofold attack. Damage varies with TP.
In addition, the following club weapon skills are available when the Monk's subjob is Warrior, White Mage, Paladin, Dark Knight, Samurai, or Blue Mage:
