Flasks (WoW)

Contents [hide]

What are Flasks?

A flask is a type of potion created by an alchemist. Some types of flasks, which are not drinkable, are used either as quest items or as ingredients for other professions, like Engineering and Leatherworking. Some recipes are obtainable from faction vendors and can be traded to another character. Once traded though, the character is required to have a specific faction reputation before being able to learn the recipe.

How are Flasks used?

A flask counts as both a Battle Elixir and a Guardian Elixir, so only one flask at a time may be used. Subsequent flasks imbibed will overwrite the effects of the former and prevent a player from using other elixirs. The standard cooldown on a flask, similar to an Elixir, is 3 seconds and, with one exception, that being the Flask of Petrification, they have a 2 hour duration timer, which persists through death. They also cannot be dispelled so they are ideal for some boss fights.

Creating a Flask

Creating a flask requires the use of an Alchemy Lab, which can be found in places like Shattrath City, Scholomance near Ras Frostwhisper and Blackwing Lair past the dreaded Broodlord Lashlayer. Flasks directily benefit from having the Elixir Specialization.
