EverQuest II
Everquest II is a game from Sony Online Entertainment, set in the ficticious world of Norrath. Taking place 400 years in the future from the original Everquest, the world of Norrath is fractured and factioned place.
A total of 18 races can be chosen by players for their characters. The choice of race affects where your character is elligible to start. Your choice of race will also affect the side that you start on, good or evil. Some races are represented as neutral, though this allows them to choose to start on either side. The choice of a side or city loyalty affects game play in a number of ways. On the PvP servers, the choice of a side also affects PvP teaming.
The good races are Dwarf, Fae, Froglock, Halfling, High Elf and Wood Elf.
The neutral races are Barbarian, Erudite, Gnome, Half Elf, Human and Kerra.
The evil races are Arasai, Dark Elves, Iksar, Ogre, Ratonga, and Trolls.
There are a total of 24 classes available for players to choose from. Unlike the original Everquest and some other MMOs, your choice of race is not the limiting factor for class selection. Classes are available depending on your good/evil choice. Certain classes are available to both sides, and some are Evil only while others are available only to the players starting in the good cities.
The classes available to players starting in Freeport or Neriak are Bruiser, Shadow Knight, Assassin, Brigand, Defiler, Inquisitor, Coercer and Necromancer.
The classes available only to players starting in Qeynos or Kethelin are Monk, Paladin, Ranger, Swashbuckler, Mystic, Templar, Conjuror, and Illusionist.
The classes available to everyone are Berserker, Guardian, Dirge, Troubadour, Fury, Warden, Wizard and Warlock.
