The Enhancement Tree is the shaman talent tree which focuses on melee damage. It contains talents which boost melee damage done by the shaman, allows the shaman to duel wield, and increases the benefit Totems give to the party.

Primary uses

The Enhancement tree is generally regarded as the levelling tree as it is faster than trying to level as resto and has more available gear options than elemental. In a raid setting an enhancement shaman brings arguably the best buff to the melee group in Windfury totem. They are also able to hold their own as respectable damage dealers.

Tier 1

  • Ancestral Knowledge (5 points) - Increases your maximum mana by 5%. Not a stellar talent by any means, but a little extra mana is more beneficial than the other tier one talent.
  • Shield Specialization (5 points) - Increases your chance to block attacks with a shield by 5% and increases the amount blocked by 25%. No real benefit for pve shaman.

Tier 2

(5 points required)

  • Guardian Totems (2) - Increases the amount of damage reduced by your Stoneskin Totem and Windwall Totem by 20% and reduces the cooldown of your Grounding Totem by 2 sec. Excellent talent for pvp, can pass on it for pve.
  • Thundering Strikes (5) - Improves your chance to get a critical strike with your weapon attacks by 5%. Crits are a huge part of the enhancement shaman play style so this is an essential talent.
  • Improved Ghost Wolf (2) - Reduces the cast time of your Ghost Wolf spell by 2 sec. 2 points in this talent make Ghost Wolf instant. An important factor in pvp and a great place for filler points in a pve build.
  • Improved Lightning Shield (3) - Increases the damage done by your Lightning Shield orbs by 15%. Not a bad talent while levelling however it loses importance once you learn Water Shield and begin to use it instead.

Tier 3

(10 points required)

  • Elemental Weapons (3) - Increases the damage caused by your Windfury Weapon effect by 40% increases the spell damage on your Flametongue Weapon by 30% and increases the bonus healing on your Earthliving Weapon by 30%.
  • Shamanistic Focus (1) - Reduces the mana cost of your Shock spells by 45%.
  • Anticipation) (3) - Increases your chance to dodge by an additional 3%, and reduces the duration of all Disarm effects used against you by 50%. This does not stack with other Disarm duration reducing effects.

Tier 4

(15 points required)

  • Flurry (5) - Requires 5 points in Thundering Strikes. Increases your attack speed by 30% for your next 3 swings after dealing a critical strike. An excellent talent.
  • Toughness (5) - Increases your armor value from items by 10%, and reduces the duration of movement slowing effects on you by 50%. Don't spend points here.

Tier 5

(20 points required)

  • Improved Windfury Totem (2) -Increases the melee haste granted by your Windfury totem by 4%.
  • Spirit Weapons (1) - Gives a chance to parry enemy melee attacks and reduces the threat generated by your melee attacks by 30%. Threat reduction is always good, a must have talent.
  • Mental Dexterity (3) - Increases your Attack Power by 100% of your Intellect.

Tier 6

(25 points required)

  • Unleashed Rage (5) - Causes your critical hits with melee attacks to increase all party and raid members' attack power by 10% if within 45 yards of the Shaman. Lasts 10 sec.
  • Weapon Mastery (3) - Increases the damage you deal with all weapons by 10%. Get it.

Tier 7

(30 points required)

  • Dual Wield (1) - Allows one-hand and off-hand weapons to be equipped in the off-hand. An important talent to get as duel wielding has been shown to do more damage than using 2-handed weapons.
  • Dual Wield Specialization (3) - Increases your chance to hit while dual wielding by an additional 6%. Another important talent as duel wielding has a higher miss rate.
  • Stormstrike (1) - Instantly attack with both weapons. In addition, the next 2 sources of Nature damage dealt to the target are increased by 20%. Lasts 12 seconds. The buff applies to your nature damage as well as to that of anyone else in the raid (elemental shaman, moonkin druids, even the hunter pet type Wind Serpent).

Tier 8

(35 points required)

  • Unleashed Rage (5) - Causes your critical hits with melee attacks to increase all party members' melee attack power by 10% if within 20 yards of the Shaman. Lasts 10 seconds. Yet another great party wide buff.

Tier 9

(40 points required)

  • Shamanistic Rage (1) - Reduces all damage taken by 30% and gives your successful melee attacks a chance to regenerate mana equal to 30% of your attack power. Lasts 15 seconds. A great way to refill your mana bar in pve and is also a good pvp talent.
  • Static Shock (3) - You have a 6% chance to hit your target with a Lightning Shield Orb charge when you do damage, and increases the number of charges of your Lightning Shield by 6.
  • Earthen Power (2) - Your Earthbind Totem has a 100% chance to also remove all snare effects from you and nearby friendly targets when it pulses.

Tier 10

(45 points required)

  • Maelstrom Weapon (5) - When you deal damage with a melee weapon, you have a 100% chance to reduce the cast time of your next Lightning Bolt, Chain Lightning, Lava Burst, Lesser Healing Wave, Chain Heal or Healing Wave spell by 20%. Stacks up to 5 times. Lasts 30 sec.

Tier 11

(50 points required)

  • Feral Spirit (1) - Summons two Spirit Wolves under the command of the Shaman, lasting 45 sec.
