Reaver Reaver

Solo Play

Reavers deal damage by stacking damage over time abilities(DoTs) and debuffs on their target. Quickly stacking DoTs followed by an Infestation, an ability that does damage after a few seconds based on the number of Reaver DoTs on the target, can lead to a dead mob quickly. When facing multiple foes, make sure refresh Plague Bringer, which will spread your DoTs to all targets within range when applied.

Instance/Raid Play

Reavers are often tanks in instances, and when properly built to do so, can hold threat easily and survive tough encounters. Plague Bringer will also increase the threat of any DoTs you spread while it is active, so keep it up frequently! If you're DPSing in an instance or raid, mind your high threat abilities or you may pull the mob off the tank.

Riftblade Riftblade

Solo Play

Riftblades can open combat with a long range elemental spear attack or two, before closing and finishing enemies off with strong elemental finishers that augment normal attacks.

Instance/Raid Play

Primarily a DPS soul, the Riftblade is capable of large amounts of AoE and burst damage when using it's finishers.

PvP Play

Since the Riftblade has long ranged attacks, it does not need to constantly be in melee to put out damage. However, a ranged snare as well as runspeed ability allows the Riftblade to close on enemies as well.

Inquisitor Inquisitor

Solo Play

Great with solo play, has channeling spells to create dps and heal yourself and your mana. a few dots, few spam spells and only one aoe spell (to hit up to 4 targets)

Instance/Raid Play

Ranged DPS with chain armor means it'll probably survive the longest if tank aggro goes or is accidentially in the wrong place.

PvP Play

With an AoE fear spell and talents to reduce damage when stunned, feared and other CC controls means can be very useful and amusing to play.

Other Notes

AoE fear spell with channelling recharge spells means it sacrifices DPS for a bit more suvivability

Sentinel Sentinel

Solo Play

Has far too few damage spells, best to not use as your primary soul during solo work.

Instance/Raid Play

Now it starts to shine, Sentinel has many healing spells that can heals groups and can bounce of members and heal more than one person. There is also an instant cast spell to heal a raid and potentially reduce damage by 5% (very handy on aoe bosses)

PvP Play

A few healing spells create buffs that when finish, create damage to surrounding enemies, its like a time bomb strapped to you but heals you and kills your enemies.

Other Notes

With a lack of damage abilities and several resurrection spells this soul works well in a unified group. On its own it could survive long with its heals but not deal a lot of damage. Make sure you have plenty of the Wisdom attribute to keep your mana topped up.

Mage Only Souls

Elementalist Elementalist

Solo Play

During solo play you can effectively use your earth elemental pet to tank mobs while you stand back and fire spells at them. At higher levels you can use soul points to reduce damage caused to your earth elemental for more effective mob tanking.

Instance/Raid Play

Using your air elemental for ranged dps from your pet you can stand afar and throw spells at dungeon mobs and bosses. If mobs get too close there is a spell to throw your opponents backwards and reduce their movement speed so you can give more time for the party tank to grab aggro again or run for your life.

PvP Play

Your water elemental pet you gain in the higher parts of the soul root can be used for crowd control and is more suited for pvp play, with the usual ground AoE and a frontal cone AoE spells you can throw out, you can deal high damage if opponents get too close or group up.

Other Notes

You can gain access to spells to recover your own mana and your pet's health using your Charge
Warlock Warlock

Solo Play

A nice DPS class that has many abilities to regenerate your health from a percentage of the damage you cause. If things get too much you can gain at higher levels a Fear ability and later on an AoE fear ability.

Instance/Raid Play

With the wide range of DoT's you have at your disposal you can attack and damage a wide range of mobs and if the boss spawn add's this can be of great benefit to continue DPS on the boss with DoT's and dps the adds.

PvP Play

You are now crowned Fearmaster! (if you focus on warlock spec) Your Fearing Abilities become very useful and you can rotate your DoT's with your nearby opponents. You also have AoE DoT's that place the DoT spell on all surrounding opponents.

Other Notes

You have spells to regenerate your Hitpoints with charge
Pyromancer Pyromancer
This is a purist DPS soul, by reducing your health you can cause more damage to your attacking abilities.

Solo Play

With great DPS there has to be a cost and that's reduced Hit points. Make sure you keep an eye on your Health. To keep opponents away from you so they dont touch your low HP. You have available several Root's and Snare CC abilities

Instance/Raid Play

With mobs and bosses focused on the tank they full fury of a Pyromancer can appear, with no need to watch your HP (unless the mob has a dmg reflect spell) you can use your spec for pure DPS to the MAX!!

PvP Play

Root's and Snare crowd control abilities come in handy a lot. Make sure you stack up on Endurance to make sure your not a one-hit-wonder

Other Notes

Pyromancers get special boosts to power or stats when standing in one place, you can place a "Ground of..."spell to make it when you stand on top of that spot you get special boosts.

Chloromancer Chloromancer

Solo Play

It may have lower DPS than other Mage souls but it has high survivability making it easier to solo fight those hard mobs or potential elite mobs.

Instance/Raid Play

Currently seen more as a off-healer than a main healer it can support a team to beat the mobs with supplemental heals. it can also resurect other players when out of combat. (Useful as a spare Soul Role for when the main healer dies) (Could also be an excellent healer with a skilled player)

PvP Play

With its wide range of DoT's and HoT's it could survive quite a while with healing itself and its nearby friends.

Other Notes

Dont put this soul down yet, it can be extremely helpful and crucial when in the right hands.

Archon Archon

Solo Play

Archon is a support based soul with many abilities to take away attributes and defences from your opponent and give buff's to you or your party members.

Instance/Raid Play

Inside instances and raids the Archon soul shines the most. Giving your friends stat boosts and reducing the difficulty of the mobs/bosses

PvP Play

Reducing your opponents stats could be very handy in PvP play. It doesnt though have a wide range of DPS abilities.

Other Notes

You do get some spells that reduce your opponents run speed and at the higher levels you can get spells to do damage and give you stat buffs at the same time.
Dominator Dominator

Solo Play

Great for attacking groups of mobs with several crowd control abilities available to you.

Instance/Raid Play

A great supportive soul to help out the group when it gets to very populated zones in instances/raids or to stop opponent damage when things look bleak.

PvP Play

A very fun class to be in with PvP. With Transmorgify, Silences and Reducing opponent movement speed it can be very helpful to you and your friends to limit your opposing faction's damage.

Other Notes

At the end of the Soul tree you have two cool spells available to access, Split personality: Turns you into three mobs to help you attack and a stacking Debuff that can only be used on Opponent Players.
