Channeling (WoW)  

Channeling refers to the action taking place during a channeled spell or ability.

Some spells and abilities in WoW require the constant attention of the person performing them and thus no other actions or movements can take place during this time. If any other action is attempted, the channeling ceases without completing whatever was being channeled. Additionally, any damage caused will interrupt the process though in the case of spells, it is possible, through talents, to minimize or remove the effect of damage on channeled spells.

Channeled Abilities

There are many channeled abilities in the game. Many of the creation of items via tradeskills are technically channeled (i.e. Smelting Ore or creating a pair of linen gloves).

The application of a bandage to a wound is channeled. Any movement will stop the bandaging process and the character will not get the full benefit of the ability. Damage, either external (like a mob hitting you) or via a debuff (like a rogue poison ticking away), will also interrupt the bandaging.
