First Aid (Secondary Profession)
IngredientsQuestsRecipes(AJEAMG) • Trainers

First Aid is a very useful secondary skill skill for any class to have, but almost a necessity for non-healing clases

Contents [hide]

What First Aid Creates

First Aid allows characters to create bandages out of various types of cloth as well as anti-venom to cure poisons.

What First Aid Requires

To make bandages, First Aid requires cloth. Cloth can be found on most humanoid mobs. Anti-venom requires venom sacs that are typically dropped by spiders and scorpions.

Is First Aid For Me?

First Aid is a secondary skill, which means there is no reason to specifically avoid it though it uses the same materials as Tailoring which may make it more difficult to level. However, at the earlier levels in certain starting areas, the cloth drops are plentiful making this less of an issue there. (Tirisfal Glades, the Undead starting zone, is probably the best zone for cloth.)

Sometimes people playing classes that can self heal such as priests, paladins, druids and shaman mistakenely believe that they won't get much use out of First Aid. While it's certainly not as important for them as it would be for, say, a rogue, it's still a very useful skill to have. It will help to speed leveling as you can save your mana for your damage spells, and it's quicker than eating, allowing you to quest and grind faster. Also, it can be very helpful in instances when your healer is overtaxed or othewise unable to heal you.

Specialization

There is no specialization for first aid.

First Aid Quests and Leveling

Like all of the other secondary skills, the trainer will only allow you to reach a skill level of 150. To extend your skill cap past that range you will need to purchase books or perform quests. Below is a listing of how to level your fishing skills:

  • Skill level 1-50: This is learned from the trainer. All that is required is a character level of 5
  • Skill level 51-150: This is also learned at the trainer. You can train for the next skill cap at skill level 40 and a character level of 10.
  • Skill level 151-225: For this you are required to purchase a book Expert First Aid - Under Wraps. It may be worth it to also pick up the other books that the vendor is selling so that you don't have to come back. Also, because people often level their First Aid faster than their characters these can sell well on the Auction House for a 50-100% mark-up. Check your Auction House before you set off, though, as this sort of thing tends to vary by server.
    • Horde: This is purchased in Brackenwall Village in Dustwallow Marsh from Balai Lok'Wein
    • Alliance: This is purchased in Stromgarde in Arathi Highlands from Deneb Walker. He can be a bit tricky to find. When you enter Stromgarde stay far to the right (there are stealthed assassins here). Go through the doorway guarded by two alliance guards. Once through the doorway head to the right. You'll loop around a bit and end up walking over a stone bridge that you walked under to enter the keep. Once you cross the bridge, stay to the right and you should see a lattice and icy-covered open walled-structure there. Deneb is at the back of that, against the wall.
  • Skill Level 226-300: For this you will need to perform a quest. You cannot get the quest until you're skill level 225 and character level 35. Please see the note in Other First Aid information below about the quest giver and further training.
    • Horde: The quest giver, named Doctor Gregory Victor, is found in Hammerfall in Arathi Highlands. He's in the building to the left as you enter the village and will give you the quest Triage. There's a pre-quest that isn't necessary to get Triage, but may provide some XP, called Horde Trauma
    • Alliance: The quest giver, named Doctor Gustaf VanHowzen, can be found in Theramore in Dustwallow Marsh. He's in the Keep, as you enter from the docks it's up the road to the right and then turn where you see the target practice dummies. Once in the keep head to the right and then turn left at the wall and you should find him. He will give you Triage. There's a pre-quest that isn't necessary to get Triage, but may provide some XP, called Alliance Trauma
  • Skill level 301-375 - You will again need to purchase a book: Master First Aid - Doctor in the House. The vendors that sell this also sell books to teach you how to make Netherweave and Heavy Netherweave Bandages.
    • Horde: This is purchased from Aresella at Falcon Watch in Hellfire Peninsula.
    • Alliance: This is purchased from Burko at the Temple of Telhamat in Hellfire Peninsula.

Other First Aid Information

Note that you will want to remember where your questgiver was for the Triage Quest. He will be the one to teach you new bandages in the future. At skill level 240 you can go back and talk to him (he won't have a quest marker on him, but talk to him anyway) and learn how to make Heavy Mageweave Bandages.

At skill level 280, and unfortunately Heavy Mageweave goes to a green skill-up level at around 270, he will teach you how to make Runecloth Bandages.

At skill level 290 he will teach you how to make Heavy Runecloth Bandages.
