Evidently, there are people who are not very responsible in paying their bills, so they think this is a scam. For those of us who do pay our bills responsibly, this is a pretty good promotion. Who gives a flying freak what the interest rate is if you pay it off every month? I think the cards look cool. I just wish they had put their human mage on one.
Eeek!!

A couple frozen pizzas: $5
12 Pack of Mountain Dew: $4.50
Having the hot checkout girl think you're a dork 'cause you have a WoW credit card: Priceless

Wow. They sure know how to market credit cards now. "Get a credit card, and we'll reward you for playing your game!"

Folks, credit cards are pretty much good for about one thing, and that's going into serious, soul-crushing debt. I'm sure some folks out there exercise good financial judgement and restraint, just like some folks make good brain surgeons or rocket scientists. But just like the latter, the former are few and far between.

Even worse is that this isn't like lying to yourself about how "good" you are in PVP or something. You ***** up with a credit card, you'll suffer far worse than having folks talk bad about you on the internet. You can be smarter than anyone on the planet and still not have the common sense to spend wisely.

Credit card companies are simply a legal type of rip-off. They make money by putting you in debt to them, like a loan, and making you pay for being in debt to them so you can go out and spend more money while you are still in debt. And the more you spend and go into debt to them for, the more they make.

But it's your nickel. Me, I'll save my money by not paying some company to make me a temporary loan.

The $12-something I pay per month to play isn't exactly putting enough of a drain on my finances to send me scrambling to look for ways to score free months.
DO NOT APPLY NOW!!!

I suppose if you already spend $1500 a month on your credit card (what it takes to get a free month), and you want a cool looking credit card, you could do this. Although there are cards out there that give you 2-4%, which you could use to pay for your WoW subscription a few times over...

As with any credit card, watch out for the term structure. If you pay your card on time, for the first year you get a nice 0% APR to suck you in. Some transactions on this baby have a crazy high APR, which can smack you with more than 30% interest (26.5% Margin + 5%+ LIBOR).
