It has been reported on Slashdot.org that a dup bug was discovered in World of Warcraft that has been used over the past few weeks to duplicate massive amounts of gold as well as epic items. As a result, Blizzard has announced that they are extending the regular maintenance while they investigate the claim. There is no official word yet from Blizzard on how long the servers will be down or how they plan to respond to any duped items and gold. I would say that rumors of a possible character rollback are probably premature at this point. I created a thread in the forum to consolidate discussions on the matter. (Also, I want to point out that WoW, FFXI and SWG are all down right now, so we are getting hammered -- expect things to be slow until one or more of those games goes back up).
