Different gear setups

Oh, and yes: I change gear often. I carry a complete +agi based set and a complete +int based set at all times, and some items (Neck, rings) I carry even more of, to suit every situation. if I'm grinding I wear my +5 agi +4 sta +5 str neck, if i'm healing I wear my +7 int/spi/sta neck. I'm a bit embarrassed about my +int trousers though, they are really old now.

Problem is, I don't have enough bag space to carry THREE armor sets. Since I will be using Bear more than cat from now on (cat is starting to lose its grandeur at 50+), I will modify my grinding kit to include more +str pieces when I acquire them.

I think two armor sets is mandatory for every druid. If you're int based, you WILL be a slow grinder. IF you're anything else, you won't be a good healer.

When I am healing, I typically have around 4K mana now; 4400 with either option (I'm alchymist) or mage buff. Together with Innervate, that's plenty for healing.
My gear

Hey, I see you are discussing my agility gear *smiles* I am Ferdinand by the way.

Right now the profile shows my healing gear, which I use when I'm in a group. Still using the rod from SM, it gives +18 int with an enchant, so it's good for pvp or teaming.

Agility makes perfect sense for a druid who wants to solo/grind (regardless of your talent setup), since Cat form is the fastest way to kill a mob (if it's in your level range of course).

Agi does two things for me in cat:

1. Gives me a lot more crits
2. Increases my armor and dodge.

This means I kill mobs as fast as I can, but of course I have to heal up afterwards. The 1.5 seconds (or 0 seconds if NS is up) of Regrowth needed after every second mob is fine by me.

I'm restoration specced for the simple reason that I am one of rather few viable healers in my guild. If I had been a loner I would have gone feral until I did instances so much I needed to be a full healer.

Armor sets

My guild master and most other higher lvl Druids I know play with multiple armor sets for Normal, Cat, and Bear forms. I assume he was wearing his cat armor when he last uploaded. There are even mods that change out all your armor when you change forms.

I thought of that too but when I looked at the talent build, he is set up to be mostly a restoration druid, not feral. Be interesting to see how this person plays this char.

I would think plays similarly to my Hunter, or a Rogue...focus here is on Agi first and Stam second. Agility enhances AC, melee/ranged damage output, and dodge chance. The character could still TANK in bear form, albiet for a shorter period of time, have the bonus of a higher dodge rate, and still be able to heal and hit groups with uber wicked Mark of the Wild...interesting build!

Hats off for breaking the mold!

This doesn't really make sense since his talent build is geared towards restoration. If I were a feral talent build, my gear would reflect that but as a restoration build, I need sta and int.

Again, there is no "right" or "wrong" build...even for a restoration spec'd character.

Don't knock it until you've tried it.

Fellow Hunters sometimes question my gear cause I am Marksman build with Agility and Intellect...I eat more mana than most mages I know. I also CRIT with my arcane shot usually 400-800 damage several times a fight.
Curious

I don't think I have ever seen an Agi based Druid before. I am curious about your choice of gear. I understand having high armour reduces the dmg you take but you can't be very useful in groups. How do you play this char with this gear?

You can't play as a tank because they have way better AC and Attack.

You can't play as a healer because you don't have the mana for it.

You can't play as a meat sheild because you don't have the health.

My lvl 36 Druid has almost as much health and more mana. Maybe I am missing something but how do you play this character?
