New Test Servers and Patch Notes

Blizzard has added two test realms which are currently running the latest patch. There's no word yet when that patch will go to the live servers, though presumably not soon as it obviously needs to be tested out. Invitations will be going out to selected level 55 to 60 characters to ask if they want to copy their characters over to the test realms and play under the newest version. The patch looks enormous. Grab a cup of coffee or other beverage of choice before starting to read through all of the notes. The official post regarding the test server can be found on the main site, along with the patch notes and test realm faq.

DRuid?

"Rebirth - Casting time and mana cost reduced; now ignores resurrection timers." cast time reduced do they mean cooldown because its already a 3 second cast and a 30 minute cooldon so the cooldown reduce would be nice since we have to buy reagents to res people.

It means exactly what it says. Nowhere in there does it mention cooldown period. 3 seconds is a long time when you want to get your tank back up and the res timer thing made the whole spell worthless. Nothing more frustrating than rezzing your tank and having him say "2 minutes".
didn't really fix LW'ing

They don't seem to really be fixing high level/specialised leatherworking though.. as a hunter, theres no highlevel stuff I can make thats actually useful to me.. drops are way better than anything I can make... tribal might sell to rouges, and thats about it!

Ginormous patch... :).I would have to say the patch does fix many of the more prominent bugs i have been seeing. Yes the new mage armor is quite a nice additions, ill have to see how it works out. I like the fact that the class training costs have been reduced, i only got a lvl 38 but im already spending 4~ gold at the lvl up. Not exactly what i want to be doing as i am saving up for a mount. One thing blizzard shoudl do tho is inform the client side ui addons of the patch details so there is not a mass hysteria when it comes out. Hope it comes out soon...

Hunter "nerfs"
# Mar 08 2005 at 10:12 AM Rating: Decent
The hunters that whine about the supposed "nerfs" are chumps, honestly. Snarler was lame anyway, Sandfury pets were garbage, and losing the former quiver bugs is no loss for me as I'm not a lamer that uses that.

If you are a hunter and are mad at the "nerf" like the Pally's mad about the Crusader "nerf" go F'ing reroll. Let those of us that are good keep with our jobs without you tardbags making us look bad.

A very big patch indeed! The mage improvements will be welcome here except that I'm not yet high enough level to get that new Mage armour spell. :)

As for hunters, I'm quite sure they nerf it to be more balanced with the other chars. There seems to be a tendency for many to choose hunters simply because they are better. So obviously Blizzard dont want this to happen. I didnt read much about the clases before I chose a mage and soon realized that it was a very hard character to play, especially solo. But in a party it can still do some amazing damage.

Server issues
# Mar 07 2005 at 10:11 PM Rating: Decent
I didn't see anything relating to the absurd queue lines. There's no use balancing classes if I can't play them.

Blizz is actually working on a one time fix for people who find themselves on over populated servers.

Subject: Re: Character Move

Hello there,

At this time, characters cannot be transferred between any accounts or realms, regardless of who owns the accounts or other character-related circumstance. However, we are in the process of implementing a character migration feature which will allow a one-time server transfer for characters on highly populated servers. This transfer will only be available within a single account, and allow a character to move from a high population server to a low population one. Character transfers between accounts are not planned at this time. Transfers from one realm type to another will not be allowed. We do not have a specific timeframe for the implementation of the character migration, so keep an eye on www.worldofwarcraft.com for more information as it becomes available.

So you will be able to get off your server once they have it stable and balanced, or as stable and balanced as they can make it.

One possib le solution is to switch to a server without queue lines. =P

I haven't seen a queue line since beta on Alleria. I figure it's only a matter of time until they resolve the issues with the bugged servers.

Reroll anyone?
# Mar 07 2005 at 9:25 PM Rating: Default
hunters nerfed again. we lost 16.3%DPS and lost resists on our pets. These constant nerfs on a class that hardly reserves them is starting to get ridiculous.

Now that's a patch.
Speaking from an E.U. point of view, it would be really nice to see this one implemented at the same time over here, i know a lot of my friends are eagerly awaiting some class fixes. Personally, i just want to go & gape at the new raid bosses before they kick my carcass back to Ironforge.
