WildStar Review: The Journey To Nexus

WildStar is officially the new kid on the block, but should you take the journey?

The Verdict

Despite a few bugs that still need to get sorted out, WildStar is probably one of the largest MMOs content-wise to launch in at least ten years. When you take a look at the content I mentioned above, as well as what I haven’t mentioned much of, such as mount customization, dyes, costumes, Player Housing and a huge crafting system all in at launch, that’s huge for a MMO and it proves that the team is dedicated to showing you just how much content a monthly $15 subscription should be able to get you.

While some of the more challenging high-level content could be overly time consuming for some, the game offers plenty for the more casual or the hardcore. WildStar re-introduces some of the “old-school mentality” to the genre that hasn’t really been seen since classic World of Warcraft. And while this may not be what every MMO player is looking for, if you happen to be seeking a solid MMORPG experience with tons of solo-friendly, small group, and large group content  set in a quirky and mysterious Sci-Fi universe, then I would definitely check this game out. I wouldn’t say WildStar completely recreates the MMO landscape, but everything it brings to the table it does extremely well, and is definitely a solid addition to the genre with a team of passionate game developers behind it who ultimately deserve your time. With the next game update already on the horizon, new players just landing on Planet Nexus have that much more content to look forward to once they begin their journey.

As always, be sure to keep it locked to ZAM for more WildStar news, information and updates as we continue to cover this epic Sci-Fi MMORPG.

I'll see you on Nexus!
