Earlier today, MLG announced that it has "extensive plans" for Dota 2; these plans consist of "running a robust, North American (NA) Dota 2 league, showcasing the game on the 2014 Pro Circuit, and highlighting Dota 2 competition via weekly programming."

Here's what we can expect from MLG in the following months:

North American (NA) League: Starting January 6, 2014, NA teams will enter League Play. The first half of 2014 begins with four month-long seasons worth $15,000 each. Another $150,000 is up-for-grabs during the MLG Championship in Anaheim, CA, from June 20-22, 2014.

Regular Broadcasting: Starting October 2, 2013 (today!), MLG will regularly air Dota 2 programming on Mondays, Wednesdays and Saturdays at 3PM EDT / 6PM EDT. (located here)

Given the continued popularity of MOBAs and eSports in general, it's no surprise that MLG is increasing its foothold in Dota 2. With the recent addition of LAN multiplayer in the Dota 2 First Blood update, it's very sensible timing on their part. The community response is overwhelmingly positive, with fans eager to enjoy some quality MLG coverage.
