Shroud of the Avatar Gains Overwhelming Support

Richard Garriot's Kickstarter succeeded, raising almost double the goal in funds.

The Kickstarter for Richard Garriot's new RPG, Shroud of the Avatar, ended yesterday just shy of doubling its goal of $1 million. The final total of funds pledged through Kickstarter ended up at $1,919,275. The time ending on Kickstarter  hasn't stopped pledges from being made through the game's official site. As of this moment, just over $150,000 has been pledged in addition, taking the total funds raised to well over $2 million.

The following thank you was released following the finish of the Kickstarter campaign:

"A sincere thank you goes out to all our backers for pledging your support to “Shroud of the Avatar” and helping us raise almost double our Kickstarter goal! This game would not be possible without your dedication and feedback – what a fantastic experience it’s been to interact with all of you, learning what is most important and desired in our new world.

And we very much look forward to continuing that interaction, so please continue to discuss your ideas with us here on our official site! We’ll have regular updates and information for friends old and new. You can also find us on Facebook and Twitter, or tweet us with #LBSOTA to keep the conversation alive!"

If you want to learn more about Shroud of the Avatar, a lot of information about the game is available on its Kickstarter page. Also, pledges are still being accepted through the Shroud of the Avatar official site.
