The Scrying Pool: Deep Sea Horrors

In this week's article of The Scrying Pool, we look at the very mysterious Deep Sea Dragon.

This chain however, would be broken when Shiro Tagachi murdered one of the emperors about 450 years before Guild Wars 2. After Shiro assassinated the emperor, he absorbed the “blessing” through a dark ritual breaking the blessings line of succession. However, Shiro was slain before he could leave the temple with his newly acquired power. Without a proper succession, all of that magic was unleashed from Shiro causing the Jade Wind. The magic that caused the Jade Wind was said to have been twisted by Shiro's dark intentions into the unintended effect.

So what do we know of that takes magic from dragons, alters it and spits it back out again? That huge cannon that cripples Zhaitan in the final dungeon. Some might have met a certain Asura called Gorr who theorized that the Elder Dragons consume magic. After confirming his theory he created a weapon that sucks magic in, poisons it, then shoots it back out.

What if Gorr wasn't the first person to do this, but the same thing happened with Shiro's Jade Wind? If this is the case, the Jade Sea turned jade could be a dragon catching net. If the player's, most likely with the help of an Asura, could recreate the process it could be used as another weapon against the dragons. Why would we need another weapon? Well there is that Kralkatorrik guy who can apparently turn into a storm. Maybe a laser of Elder Dragon doom would have no effect on him when he morphs into a storm. The jade trap however might encase him, blocking his ability to become the storm and making him vulnerable to our mighty weapons.

With that we are finished today. Not too many What Ifs in this article with it all circling around the central question of “What if the Deep Sea Dragon was in the Jade Sea not the Unending Ocean?”

I have been informed that the Scrying Pool will not be available next week, something about preparing for a Valentine's date with a special pond friend of his. Don't ask me, I thought it was weird too. But the article must go on! For next week I thought I would ask you, the community, what you thought would come to pass. So comment, tweet, or message your opinion on what new dailies you think we will see when the 4/6 achievement update comes about.

For those of you unaware, in a patch coming soon there will be more dailies than are required to fill the daily bar. This means that players can pick and choose which dailies they want to complete to get the daily rewards. We have already seen some new dailies in the last patch, but with the 4/6 system (pick 4 out of the 6 available) we might see some new, crazier daily achievements. So submit which new achievements you think will come, you wish would come, or would hate to see added even if they are optional.

The only issue with this is the fact that we will not be seeing Cantha in the foreseeable future.
NCsoft has put their foot down and said "No Cantha in GW2"

I really liked Cantha too.
