League Of Legends World Championship Group A

A round up of the days action from Group A of the League Of Legends World Championship

Game Four - CLG NA versus SK Gaming
The early game was a very passive affair, with both teams focusing on their farm rather than the ganks.
HotShotGG gets a good early jungle lead and is able to put down a few ganks, but is unable to convert the kills.
The first blood opens things up for SK, they get the early lead in the bottom lane that is crucial to surviving the aggressive Doublelift on Graves.
CLG take a great team fight at 13 minutes that gives them a big upper hand and it is then followed up by another catch onto two members of SK a few minutes later.
CLG begin to run away with the gold, with the kills on their major carries.
The mid game has a lot of team fight baiting as the majority of both teams decide to leave their lanes and start contesting the objectives more.
Neither team force a major engagement as they trade towers and dragons.
SK manage to pick up a sneaky baron at 33 minutes as they clear all wards from CLG and spot the majority of the team off to the south.
Doublelift manages to drop an inhibitor turret and inhibitor with a split push as SK are dancing around the mid second turret.
SK engage onto the four man CLG and manage to take down Chauster and Bigfatlip and push all the way into the nexus turrets.
Doublelift behind this is still working down the inhibitor turrets as he stays away from Shen.
Then two teleports come down from Bigfatlip and Voyboy and they all start a nexus dance.
With the damage from CLG being focused on the nexus and some great avoidance moves, SK are not able to take out the members of CLG before the nexus falls.

First Blood:
First blood comes via a skirmish in the bot lane between Doublelift-Chauster and Yellowstar-Nyph.
Graves engages the fight but is unable to land the auto attacks onto Ezreal with him in the bush.
Graves had the damage but Ezreal was able to pop an emergency heal to keep himself alive, with him low and Lulu still on the prowl, she sets out to take out Ezreal.
Lulu lands the kill but Ezreal picks up the double kill.
Game Changing Moment:
This game was very even, even though it seemed that CLG were taking the lead with great fights, SK were also taking out some great turret kills to keep them in the gold lead.
The game changing moment was when SK took the Baron buff and ultimately the loss.
When a team has the baron they pressure towards the enemies' base with their new found advantage.
Doublelift knew that if a major fight occurred he could teleport back to the base in need, but he pushed down an inhibitor while SK were still on the inhibitor turret.
The fight at CLG's base then became a four versus four, as Araneae came back to deal with Doublelift, and as CLG defended the push and SK fell back, Voyboy and Bigfatlip teleported to the enemy nexus instantly changing the tide of the game.
With three members of CLG hitting on the nexus, the game switched in a blink of an eye.
Most Valuable Player:
Doublelift, Graves
I give the MVP to Doublelift for his final push of the game.
Most players on the back of losing a baron go into all out defensive mode, but CLG stuck to their split pushing strategy to make it work.
The final play was initiated by Doublelift’s determination to take himself onto the nexus turrets and the knowledge he and his team was safe with his teleport, he was able to take down turrets being the AD carry and the only champion to counter his push was Shen [a melee champion]
With Doublelift working the perfect play to counter SK it seems right to give him the MVP for  the critical thinking in a dire situation.

Play Of The Game:
With 13 minutes on the clock SK go for a very aggressive push towards the bottom lane, with both Doublelift and Chauster low and with Yellowstar jumping into Doublelift -- almost taking him out -- Lulu pops her ultimate to save him.
Behind this, Hotshotgg is in the river waiting to get the jump on Yellowstar as he falls back from the CLG tower.
Hotshotgg moves in along with Voyboy who is making his move from the SK tri-bush, both catch onto Yellowstar, but a great Shen ultimate stops them from clearing him down.
With Shen ultimating in, Bigfatlip burns a teleport to make it to the bottom lane to grab a double kill onto yellow star and Nyph.
Doublelift also burns his teleport, after he has healed from the fountain, taking down Araneae to make the count three for one to CLG.
